Everyone is talking about every job changes in Lowe's but there is one that has suffered tremendously and hasn't been mentioned yet. "Overnight Stocker" the changes that has been made for us is in heard of. Our changes has went from being a one man show, so to speak.

We went from having a crew who unloads the trucks.

Having a crew who seperates, works the freight and topstocks it.

Having people who does pricing.

To one crew doing it all. It's hard enough doing either job but to "Have To" do all 3 is cruel and thoughtless. Our days were moved up to 10hr days for the full time and the part timers come in on days of sceduled trucks. Can you imagine physically unloading a truck of anywhere from 700 to 1200+ then pulling all freight to the floor, separating it, working the freight to the shelves then top stocking it and disposing of all trash in one night. Doing it in limited light, heat or air conditioning (because if Lowe's trying to "save money") and you don't receive any type of pay hike for the addition of extra jobs. Mind you this particular job is a very physical one and has taken its toll on everyone. I challenge anyone in corporate, management or any higher seat to come and do what we do for a week and I guarantee you they wouldn't like it either. So my question is: I know your concerned about you customers but where is the concern for your employees????

I know people that left Lowe’s and drive forklifts for pharmaceutical companies, beverage companies, FedEx... they all pay more.

I know people that left as cashiers and floor associates that got licensed for pharmacy technicians, medical payments... they make quite a bit more money.

You don’t need college to make more money, you need urgency, drive and to stop procrastinating.

@10Zm1rHm-cas

You are 100% correct! I left the company in February during the RIF, and I found a company 1 million times better, family oriented, crazy good benefits, and damn near double the salary too with a company car.

Oh did I mention that it's Monday-Friday, and I don't work nights, holidays or weekends. It is possible, you just have to go out and be willing to grab the bull by the horns.

Best of luck to everyone.

Lmao - Fake Recovery... I left Lowe’s and found a job paying more in my 1st attempt. If you can’t find a better paying job in this economy get a professional to review your resume. I make almost double what I made in retail.

Not just Lowe's pretty much every major corporation lying about layoffs or the extent of layoffs. One big deception since 2009, and now that the fake "Recovery" is falling apart, the lie is becoming extremely hard to mask.
