After MANY years of dedication I was let go this week.

A large portion of the workforce is going to get severance packages over the next few years. Many jobs will be created and many more will be lost.
My advice is if you want to carve out a career that lacks complete meaning you’ll likely be able to survive at PepsiCo . If you value teamwork, winning as one and making a difference. Sign that severance before your peers snatch it up. There are only so many packages to go around and the majority are lined up outside the door to accept them.
Was let go after 25 years of service - by a new hire VP - who left the next month. In all 25 years every year they had layoffs to balance the bottom line. While I had a wonderful career and worked with many outstanding coworkers - hundreds of us all were delivered the same LAYOFF fate. Too bad the EEOC or the Federal Government wouldn't take notice of their unfair labor practices. I never looked back and went on to better things, with a better commute and less disfunction. Luckily I earned a pension for which I am grateful for. Been told I should write a book about all the layoff stories - maybe one day I will and include my fellow Frito and Quaker layoff people as well. America we should not allow companies to do this to loyal employees.
What location / team are you on and when is the date ?
Many of us are waiting to hear the same so it would help to know the timing
Working at the blue can is like tasting Reb A: up front a sweet taste but a long bitter after taste.
I am hoping and praying to be let go ASAP. This is a toxic sludge . think of it as a blessing. The day I will be walk out will be my happiest.
They deserve the totally c-ap service and what ever Indian provider they rotate to.
It is a blessing in disguise. I have many years here, and am planning my retirement. Would have loved to stay longer , however this toxic environment isn’t worth it. Downsized to reduce stress now this is the next step. I have pension and a nice 401k. Will get a mindless PT job to keep busy. Good luck to them. This business isn’t what it was, too much outsourcing.
I was let go in Feb after almost 30 years. It’s different scenario depending on whether your in Canada or the US. A bit of advice on either case ... don’t let anger govern your thinking right now. Engage the placement services ASAP and get your resume and LinkedIn updated. Spread the word through your informal network that you are looking. Above all, don’t panic. If your within a stones throw of retirement, start thinking of alternatives. Now is a time when you will realize who your real friends are vs work associates. Above all, go home, hug your family and understand that they are going through this with you but is not their fault. This might be a blessing in disguise ... GOOD LUCK !!!
What location are you at and are you in IT or the business ?
I was part of the purge earlier this year. Understand what you are going through but know this is a blessing not a curse. The weight of the world was lifted off me when I left that toxic environment
