What is up with everyone leaving?

Maybe my area is different. We have several people who worked have 20+ years with the company. many with 8-15 years. 1 TM, the one who'd been there the longest. Got his second apple. Left for another job but was back within a week or two. All store leadership has been there over 10 years. Most team leadership has been there 10 years in two cases 20. The shortest term in leadership is 2 years. Our metro doesn't have many stores so there isn't as much opportunity as Chicago where it's easier to hop from store to store or jump to regional. That s—s for people who want to move up but can't because old timers have topped out and lost ambition but most people are waiting it out for new stores or switching teams. I think many tms people see "leaving" are just getting promoted to a different store/team. Or has happened a few times moved due to romantic entanglements or demotion.
We lost 4 in 2019 so far... Med sized store in So Cal
At my store it’s really bad. It’s not lazy team members and students. It’s faithful long term. Employees. Know several people from other stores who have left or are leaving as well. Maybe it’s happening in more places than others but it’s definitely happening.
Everyone is not leaving. For example, on one team in our store 3 people were separated all at once for different reasons, (points, d–gs, violence) and 3 more are being nudged towards the door because they are absolutely terrible employees and in one case, a terrible human being. None of them were hired by current leadership and no one can really understand how they made it through the screening process let alone get hired. Then on the same team they had 2 people go back to school. That's 5 people down within a two week period. Then yet another tm got a promotion onto a different team. 6 people down. Then we have 2 TMs with serious medical leave issues. 8 people down within a month. Another transferred to another store, 9 down. If the 3 unproductive tms can't turn it around soon that will be 12 tms within a month or two just on gone on just one team. Not a single person quit because someone was breathing down their neck. Things just happen and sometimes they happen all at once. The workload and expectation from each tm is vastly lower than when I started a decade ago and the pay is higher. The unproductive tms need someone breathing down their neck or they need to go. We don't pay people to not work and they aren't meeting even half the requirements laid out in the GIG book. Square keeps poaching tms too because they start @ $19.50 and you sit at a desk all day with decent benefits.
def gotta get all 3 atls and tl on the same page. "Shared Vision" and all that.
I my dept. We have a tl and 3 atl, each with their own agenda.
Everyone is leaving. It’s a sinking ship..☹️
this job is not forever.....
The work and pay don’t balance out. From the top down.
Not worth the b—s— when people are breathing down ur neck all the time.
That might be the case but family and friends in other states who work for Whole Foods are saying the same thing. It’s hapeni everywhere.
YI@NNI says CALM DOWN...it's all FAKE NEWS.
Why not ask someone in your store rather than people from all over the country? Could be anything. Students going back to school? Getting other jobs? moving? Separations? Our store is finally about to get rid of a bunch of dead weight on our team because they aren't meeting expectations. Probably a combination of things and these things tend to happen all at once for some reason.
ALOT of people. 15 people from my store within 3 weeks..
Who's leaving?
