Any rumors on UP not having metra jobs anymore. Coach yard closing?

The service agreement is expiring. UP just wants to rid the operation from their balance sheet. The risk (financial and political) is not worth the reward. The employees would be offered a job with Metra. Will probably start with custodians, mechanical and admin staff.
Derwinski? CEO of METRA.
whats good ole jimbo upto nowadays
Metra taking over commuter side of UP. Most will still have a job but there’s too many employees. Some will most likely be cut.
UP was always too heavy with managers and FG’s. Everybody had a title. You’re right, there may be some small changes but nothing significant as far as UP involvement with METRA.
This Monday there suppose to be more changes coming, don’t be surprised if METRA is part of those changes. Although METRA subsidizes the costs for running on the UPRR, that doesn’t mean they don’t need to cut costs. UPRR is top heavy on the management side of Commuter Operations, if the realignment happens as rumored, look for more cuts. Example, CM headquarters in downtown Chicago would be eliminated and incorporated in the METRA HQ. The CM Ops managers think they’re safe from any cuts, I wouldn’t be to sure about that thought.
The best thing that could happen to them employees is working for metra instead of Union Pacific
Keep up the good work in Portland looks like all the right people were chosen wisely😂😂🤔

PORTLAND, OR (KPTV) - A Union Pacific train was derailed in the Albina Yard Saturday morning.
Officials with Union Pacific said a train derailed two locomotives and three tank cars in the Albina Yard in Portland around 9:19 a.m.
We shall see.
A lot of people don’t like a lot of things. UP never liked commuter ops. There’s reasons why it hasn’t changed and won’t change because of Vena’s feelings either.
Vena just don’t want UP involved in commuter ops. That’s a fact. Don’t know about any yards closing.
They’re not going anywhere. The commuters have to commute. UP doesn’t have the power to make that change. Now they could get rid of the employees who would immediately be hired by METRA proper, but it won’t happen.
Tell that to be Vena. He don’t want commuter ops around
METRA pays the UP costs. UP wouldn’t save anything by cutting commuter ops. Good try.
Uh oh looks like commuter ops people got to get a real job in transportation
As fake as it gets.
Fake news
Metra will be taking over first of 2020. UP has served notice they are “opting out” of the agreement which ends in 2019. Labor Relations and Metra has started the talks to severe the contract.
