How noticeable will a strike be at the Tech Center? Not much work in a long time for PPO. It’s disgusting to see so many shiftless people day in and day out pretty much doing nothing.
Skilled trades? A lot (certainly not all) are mostly skilled at disappearing and avoiding work. I have seen lots that are skilled in the eyes of the UAW, but would not last a week outside of the GM world.

I have seen one Bolt on the road in my life.
Mary should get rid of PPO. Useless management and overweight slogs. Nothing gets done here, unless on overtime.
Every company goes through this, it's not uncommon. GM will survive, they need to refresh the lineup, get out there and listen to what people want. The other element is forecasting what people will want, what and who are the next generation of buyers? I'll tell you this, the over priced 60000 dollar SUV / pick up buyers are coming to an end. People are getting smart, plus next generation will not spend that kind of money on a vehicle.
CLOSE the whole GM Thing down. It's just a freeking mess of people who don't if they are coming or going. The top don't know what the bottom is doing. The union don't have a clue about economics and pricing. The Middle management are confused. The product itself is shrinking. Costs are out of control. People are not really paid what there worth or what they are not worth. Just shut the darn company down. Do us all a favor. That will really shake up the economy.
Actually some programs were outsourced because the UAW refused to be flexible and competitive. Imagine that.
It’s all part of the cash hoarding strategy. Programs got delayed to push the cash spend out.
GM put all the eggs in the triple zero basket. The new trucks are gettin beat by RAM. Hard times for GM and PPO.
The doing little or nothing culture is decades old. Wonder why unions have such a bad reputation?

When PPO isn't busy what do you think is going on? No development is not a very good sign.
Mary should step aside, will this happen?
Hopefully for the betterment of the company perhaps an automotive person that understands the business and what customers want should become the CEO and sooner rather than later. It's NOT the employees fault that leadership is toxic and flawed and that people are standing around doing nothing all day.
To me it's a sign of a dying GM and a very slow death at that.
