Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Has anyone seen their AP?

Has anyone seen an Asset Protection person in their store? I’ve only seen ours once and that’s because he came over to yell at me for not doing a program I knew nothing about. I covered my name tag and asked him if he knew what my name was. That really set him off.

There are so many safety violations in our store including one that was sitting right next to me when he was yelling at me, that I can’t believe we aren’t shut down. I asked one of the ASMs about it, and he told me to “not worry about it, he’ll take care of us “meaning he’ll just fudge the numbers because it’s too much work for him to address it. I want this guys job. No work, no accountability, he could be at home drinking on his deck for all I know while we and customers get injured. Where do I sign up?

You're clueless....I guess you can judge and think you have everything figured out...Probably playing on your phone too much to notice the safety issues around you, or you just don't care enough to fix or address them.

To answer your question of where is AP? They're nowhere. They have all but been completely eliminated. There may be 1 APM per 10 stores, MAYBE. For those stores they're assigned to, they have to be a risk level 5. Anything under that, the directive has been given by corporate and the Regional teams that there is not be be anyone in those stores, but maybe once per month...So yes, you're never going to see them and you can thank the mo–ns in the C suite for that.

LP and AP is the same thing....they just changed the name to AP when they gave 95% the boot on February 1st. The 5% of APM's they kept were LPM's but with Turtle's new plan merely changed the name...So APM's arent anything new and they're the same people that were LPM's...

@FormerAP_Since LaidOff

It was the LP (Loss Prevention) staff that was canned.

Lowe's supposedly replaced them with an APA (Asset Protection Associate), but I have yet to see one in my store. Another position where Marvin is copying HD.

Does the OP know that 95%+ of the AP Managers were laid off and lost their job in February? Almost all stores don't have an AP person dedicated to one store, or in most stores at all...

Might want to take initiative, accountability and look in the mirror as to why problems persist at the store level, and what you can do to fix them, instead of walking by them with the "it's not my job mentality" or "Someone else will fix it".....

You're part of the problem OP

Look - I'm a grown adult. Boss or not - you do not yell at another adult in a rude manner without having to deal with the repercussions after hours.

Let the employee write up a statement what happened and why it was inappropriate and send a copy to everyone.

Sounds like OP was being an insubordinate id–t instead of just saying sorry and fixing the problem.

You have no idea what the problem is, so why blame the employee? Perhaps the safety problem is not an easy fix and something that AP and/or store management needs to resolve. You must be management or a management butt-kisser because management loves to blame floor employees for store problems rather than walk out of their offices and take responsibility.

Sorry I was under the impression that it was the floor employees responsibility to walk the dshr in the mornings and correct the issues. Oh wait it is their responsibility.....

Hahahaha wow so over a hundred employee’s at your location cannot do a simple task which takes literally 5 minutes (8 quizzes per week) to accomplish one time a week. Sound like some top notch talent including yourself. Keep up the good work.

— top notch talent doesn’t hire itself. Lowe’s management picks the best they can find from those that choose to work for them. Sounds like a management cluster ———. As usual

If you have a safety violation right next to you then why don't you fix it instead of crying on here about it? Or would you just rather let a little kid get hurt? You're the problem.

Is the safety program that AP4Me thing?

WHo has time to do that? More busy work from Lowe's like the time I had to set up a display of primers near the pro desk and then tear it down a week later. We still have cans of primer out of boxes sitting in top stock.

Our store manager emails out stats on that program; guess who is number 1? The store manager. Must be what he is doing in his office instead of managing the store. In fact the top 7 of 9 associates are managers/supervisors (only 9 people are participating at my store).

I do not think our store has hired one yet.
