Thread regarding Citrix Systems Inc. layoffs

I cannot get a small dollar contract executed for engineering services. The value is $1400. I was told that Procurement has a “five stage sourcing process”, whatever that means. Apparently the contract team has to developer PowerPoints to prove to management they evaluated my project and did all they could to negotiate? $1400 is pennies. No clue why. But it’s the Citrix way I suppose.

The management don’t care about any real work. They are just struggling to make themselves look good and needed by the company .
Most of the overhead departments can be easily eliminated for significant cost savings

The administrative burden is enormous.
Less time for customer meetings, and every internal citrite demanding meetings and filling up your calendar. Half the week is about alignment with other teams..

There are more people whipping the individual sales rep than actual sales rep.

I don't understand why Elliott Group doesn't see how the management level's are getting thicker.

For a while we got told that we need to be more flat.. sense then I got promoted and despite that managed to climb down from being 3rd from the top to 5th from the top, i.e. for what?

Citrix missed the opportunity about 5 years ago from making a major push. No major growth across Sales. Have you done the research on some of these teams??? It's amazing that some sales management teams have been there 15+ years.

Also, they have not made a relevant acquisition since 2006 when they acquired the ADC platform - Netscaler or Citrix ADC now. That was the only group that has since made money for Citrix, but they have from what I have heard let go of many from that group and people are departing from the Silicon Valley office. Okay, maybe the mobile group, but still not as profitable as the ADC. The workspace products are interesting, but no true value IMO since they are selling to existing customers. you have people like VMware that have been putting the pressure on Citrix and they have a similar portfolio as Citrix now. They have desktop, mobile, wide area and now ADC. I would even look at F5 Networks too since they acquired that OSS ADC player NGNX. I think Citrix made an attempt to buy them, no?Networking business is down and may never recover?

Start worrying? The KPIs and reports has been going on for several years. You can tell management the sky is blue, and they'll consult their reports and tell you no, the sky is purple. Just like the company has been running razor thin on any type of expenses....in order to keep making the numbers. Product quality and quality of services offered are poor, but, just keep selling, hit those numbers, and everything's swell.

I would start worrying if upper management is beginning to express more interest in these reports. Employee 15 was one who loved status reports. Of course, he and others like him would sell it as ‘highlighting our great work to management’. In actuality, it was simply a ruse for identifying people to fire.
