I'm not 21. I'm 36. I have a 12 and 14 year old. Some of you may not respect the managers and many managers do not respect the crews. This job for me, was a clean slate starting over. The best part of my job is my crews! I am disgusted with crew cuts new hire classes that as soon as they mark up get furloughed and treatment of all the people that actually do the work and make the money. The people making the decisions do not care about any of us. Believe what you will there were a few of us good managers. All of this aside, everyone stay safe and cover your own a– out there.

Unions are the problem. They let sh–ty employees exist. Then the company has to hire a few OMTs to babysit the union members. Maybe, just maybe, if the "good" union members started policing the other 99% of the union then the company wouldn't have to hire so many babysitters... Change the percentages by EARNING your wages instead of b–ching for them.

Omg!! Two locomotives and three tank cars derailed in a yard? Holy smokes!! Do the major news outlets know this? We need a congressional investigation into psr. These things never happened before. And you know it was a manager that caused it. Crews, engineering, mechanical employees could not cause such a tragedy. I’m upset by this news. First Trump... now this!

Stop wasting your time worrying if a 21 year old omt is getting cut lol. Maybe spend a little more time worrying about why the unions have become so weak and the railroads do whatever they want now.

There's only ONE person I want to see be fired. Lance Fritz himself! Otherwise I couldn't give a damn about anyone else's opinion about agreement/non-agreement, or managers being furloughed. So many people are really wanting to see that happen.

Here we go with this management versus agreement BS again. You agreement guys never seem to get tired of this.

If any of you (agreement) knew anything about how your company was actually run (badly), you would know that managers, especially the junior ones, have little to no agency within the company, and have virtually no control over who gets cut and where. Your beef is with the people in the C-Suite, who roll out these stupid plans filled with corporate buzzwords and dream up ways to control/ruin their employees lives (including managers).

So pretty please, with sugar on top, stop complaining about your underpaid/overworked/inexperienced managers that UP hires primarily to babysit you.

I see there's a couple of upset managers reading this post after them cutting the legs off of any man that wants to support his family. I have no sympathy for any manager getting cut. Not a single bit. Now that they are feeling the pain and after effects of what will I do for my family, they could've very well stood up and defended crews and rolled back onto seniority. No seniority? Go back to Verizon denying people phone plans.

You obviously don’t know anything.... lots of management has been cut. I hope your family never has to endure something like this no matter what your “title” is.

A lot of us cut ourselves by quitting and finding new (generally better) jobs. That's what having a college degree will do for you.
