Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

My walmart on east coast with hurricane coming says we have to work if not your terminated. How many other stores out there like mine?

If there's a lot of call outs because of a natural disaster you wouldn't get in trouble... When we have snow storms we're told to us the natural disaster and it wouldn't be counted against us... They can terminate, but it will get over turned when you go through your state labor board... Just be cause it's an at will state they have to have good reason to fire you and this would be considered an unlawful termination... At will states still have guidelines they have to follow

Not a lie entirely. There is some truth to this topic. IF you work in an "At-will" state, then an employer CAN force you to come to work, in hurricanes, blizzards, etc., or be fired if you don't come in. It would then be up to the employer as to whether the store decided to stay open or not as to whether you'd be forced to work.
