All of our FSAs & assemblers were called at home and offered positions - they said they were righting a wrong. Is this company wide - I hope so.

Oh theres a hiring freeze. It doesn’t mean you don’t stop taking applications though. Even when we were laying people off on every single round of layoffs we’ve had the past few years we were still “hiring”. It’s not hiring for positions we actually need. And it wouldn’t matter anyway because there’s no one left to do the interviews, or train these people because were so short staffed. I overheard my store manager talking to one of the other managers saying that they wanted to hire a particular person but they’re gonna have to explain to them that they’ll have to wait six weeks before they can come on because of budget reasons. So while this “hiring freeze “might not be official, we all know it’s there.
There’s no nationwide hiring freeze, stores all over have been and are continuing to fill open rolls.
As for FSAs and assemblers, from the beginning they were told they were allowed to apply to come back after 2 weeks with no gaps in their service. It is however up to the store to decide if they’re worth a position, just like other applicants.
When I was laid off form assembly, The manager said that I could come back and apply for other positions. I laughed at him. I was getting ready to retire and go part time in assembly next year. I told him that there is no way he would hire me back because of my age and my health. He looked embarrassed and couldn't answer me. I figured I had nothing to lose so I unloaded on him about what I thought about things happening in the store.
He was just a worthless a$$ kisser for the company anyway.
This happened today at my store at the customer service desk.
Customer: can you get me someone to help with mowers. (No one is ISLG)
Smart a– ASM: (there for an override) I can help, by the way we are hiring if you know anyone looking!
Customer: (gives smart a– ASM a look that says “you a–hole!”)

They better tell my store's management about that hiring freeze, signs on all the doors, including the restrooms, that we have a job fair next week.
FSA and Assembler called last week and asked to return in different role. Not BS.
The FSA and assembler at my store won’t come back. Our FSA got a job at Rockler, a wood working store and out assembler is retired and a grandfather, the only assembly he’ll be doing is for his grandchildren and maybe his wife if she nags him enough.
I hope there is not a hiring freeze, we keep having people quit and there is no one to replace them. After the store closed last night everyone had to go to pant to down stock and get it ready, there was no one in pant after 7 yesterday. They need replace the three associates that left but they say no one is applying.
Was a FSA and got back at old store in other dept. Had to do process all over again.
Why spread lies like this jerkstain? Our FSA and long time assembler have been begging to come back to our 50 mill store and denied. They visit us every 3 days, willing to take ANY position.
Also, it's official. There is a Nationwide HIRING freeze thru at least October.
So STFU with your bs.
