The only criticism I have right now about Lowe's is this. A regional team of 20 or so came to our store yesterday. They didn't acknowledge the people on the floor, working with customers. They didn't even speak to the associates. There was one young gentleman who spoke to me and used my name. That went a long way with me as far as my respect for the process.

If THAT is the only criticism you've got your blinders tight enough they got your temples bleeding.
The area/regional staffs always seem to elude downsizing and layoffs. I noticed that in my 24 years with the company. Most of these people are simply high-paid people that do very little other than pose for social media photos during store visits and send out emails all day long. I hope Marvin will challenge the need for most of these positions and eliminate most of them. For example, why on earth do you need an area mst mgr? What value do they really add to the company? None! With current technology store mst’s can get direction straight from corporate. The company needs to focus on eliminating positions that currently exist between stores and the home office. There is A LOT of fat to trim in that area, I assure you....

I agree with original poster. Market/regional/corporate teams expect that we will be impressed by them. I am not. This summer I was mixing paint and we had a group in, there was no one in ISLG so they came to get me to help. I told them “no, I have customers here, find someone else.” Yes i still work at Lowe’s.
I am sophisticated and have enjoyed a lifetime of success. I am underwhelmed by this company and the way they have treated employees. Point, good luck.
Unfortunately many of the traveling teams expect associates to jump to attention and grovel at their feet. I always found it quite laughable. I never worked at Lowe’s because I needed the job or money. I worked at Lowe’s because I liked the work and had great coworkers.
