Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Reality

Lowe's is a corporation and there are many aspects involved in that entity. Complaining or even think about u unionizing is a waste of your time and emotional energy. Change is certainly constant in business, especially now in this transition to adapting to the aggressive tech industry. My comment is directed to all who have complaints here. If you are this unhappy you should seek something new and more satisfying. You can't control the future of Lowe's. You can only control your own.

So those are our choices? S— it up or quit? Why on earth should that be allowed? Why in gods name should a company be allowed to treat its employees this way, and the burden be put on the employees whether or not to deal with it?

Since you’re so clueless, many of our stores are in areas where there are very few businesses to work for. Often the only game in town. So they hold people hostage because they can. And remember it’s not just about switching jobs. It’s switching health insurance, sometimes even having to move into new school districts, the time and expense to interview at other companies. So stop with your in practical suggestions about “just quitting”. The people complaining of the people you want to value because they’re that invested in the company. They want it to be better. You obviously don’t.

Those of you saying you want a union need to talk to people that have been in or are in a union. Specifically I would talk go talk to current ATT and UAW employees and see how they feel about their union. I assure you it is not the pipe dream that some of you thinking it is.

Why are people so afraid of democracy in the workplace?

The problem with telling employees to quit rather than complain about poor working conditions and bad management decisions is that employees are leaving. Marvin is destroying the company. Dedicated and experienced employees (who have been with Lowe's much longer than Marvin the Turtle) are being let go or leaving. The company will never recover from Marvin.

I never in my life thought unionizing Lowe’s was a good Idea. Then I read the 1st post. Yup, it’s time for a union.

There's a guy on linked in that's blasting Lowe's in posts. He use to work for Lowe's as a manager or something and it looks like Lowe's people are posting replied and he's going after them. Pretty entertaining. His profile is out of Phoenix from what I can tell.

Funny he comes to an anonymous forum to sermonize us all. Thanks Reverend! These great TECH innovations like empty endcaps with electronics that don't work, bringing power equipment in and out of store.....Genesis.....oh yeah Genesis.....gotcha, you are hot air!

And by the way, I am not corporate. I work at store 2542. On the few occasions that I have chimed in, I always seem to be perceived as some sort of corporate interloper. I assure you, I am not.
