Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Doing it All Wrong

There is such a strong focus on Hispanics from Lowes right now. That was what the whole drill, small hand thing was about (which was ignorant as F). A few weeks ago, on Reddit, there was a post from a MST with their instruction for a Fabuloso endcap. The instructions stated that their goal was to draw in more of the Hispanic community. That was already ignorance at its best. Not every Hispanic person uses that product. (I’m Hispanic and I hate it. I love me some Mr. Clean though!)

My response to that and the latest nonsense is this:

Dear Corporate,
Hispanics, Mexicans, Guatemalans, Cubans, Salvadoreños, etc, could give two s***s about what cleaning products you have and if that small drill will fit in their hands. Invest in hiring and retaining a work force of bilingual, or even multilingual, associates. THAT is what they want. They want to be able to come in and speak to someone who can help them properly. That is the number one question I get: Is there someone who speaks Spanish?

Instead of your groups based on race, gender, and s-xual orientation, why not invest in language courses for your employees? And not just for Spanish. Offer language courses based on the demographic of each location.

You’re welcome.
