No promotions on the Viacom side aside from really high up executives who are replacing recent terminations- anyone know if promotions will happen before December? I imagine they will lay off 75% of the company before they resume typical business practice.

All of these freezes are so subjective and an easy line to feed to loyal employees willing to wait forever. I've seen enough folks who were exceptions to the rule (process started before the freeze supposedly, or promoted to replace someone who "left" so not exactly the standard promotion). And promotions involve such small raises that you'd be better off leaving and then coming back in a year (they'd actually pay you more coming from outside than if you got promoted). I know that's easier said than done, but just sad reality. In any case, good luck...
