Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

There is no place for us in the future

We are an outdated company with outdated products and outdated way of thinking that focuses on layoffs to improve the bottom line instead of innovating and trying to figure out how to evolve with the times.

How anybody can think that Xerox has a future beyond a few years is beyond me.

I've watched thing deteriorate over the past three decades.

Xerox's decline began in the 80s and accelerated in the 90s.
See history with former CEO SEC scandal & settlement.
The course was set long ago - but it takes a long time for a large company to complete its "controlled flight into terrain".

We're just unfortunate enough to participate in an ugly phase of a long-running business failure.

Xerox is a shell of it’s former self...
Rapid decline started with the appointment of Useless Ursula. Her mindless “things will be better” three to five year plans resulted in yearly restructuring charges.(another term for layoffs). She was a totally clueless CEO retained by an inept board of directors.
So began the decent into today’s current mess...Good luck to those who are left!

Cannon, Ricoh, Konica and even Fuji have products other than copiers. They do not have all their eggs in one basket. Xerox and HP not so much.

Don't worry, don't worry my friends, there will still be enough to cover JV's $20m.

Lexmark is in the same position, they lay off 5-10% every year it seems now.

Canon has been investing for years in tech, so they are in better shape.

This post is dead on. This company will be carved up and sold off in parts. It will be observed by several other large companies & they will just use it as a loss leader. Xerox is dead folks, time to move on.

If mgmt had a plan doesn’t it seem like they would communicate it internally? They are selling a story to investors, but the employees don’t see any movement toward the promises made to investors.

The future will include declining print revenues. The future might include an outlay of cash to purchase Digital Patient, Digital Citizen, Digital “other” but success of those ventures is dicey since those sectors already have market leaders. The future of new print tech such as liquid metal additive mfg requires investment XRX has not made.
