Frontend Coach Position

Does anyone know what the base starting salary is this position? Was told more than ASM and less than CO better never heard dollar amount.

Also has anyone had an interview for this position yet? And if so what were the interview questions (thinking of going for the position and would like to be prepared)

Pay range staring at 60k. Definitely not worth it if you are considering to amount of hours you are going to be required to work. Not to mention the workload itself. They will literally run you into the ground. They expect you to continuously do more with less. You will have not time with your family because you work 12 hour shifts almost 6 days a week.

Starting rate is $55k. If you are in a store with rpz you win Mahe 10% more. $55k is about a $6k raise over what an assistant started at but the big difference is in the bonus potential. As an assistant you could potentially bonus 5% off your yearly salary as a coach you can bonus up to 15%.

I was just offered the Coach position as an outside hire, I took my dug test and did my background info today. I had a one on one telephone conversation with the store manager and then an in person with the Co-manager. I waited a week and called the store back and they said a recruiter would be getting back to me. Nothing happened so the store started the hiring process. I have not had a formal offer or any discussion about pay and benefits.

As an APSM I have concerns about this role. I believe my store has already made a decision on the coach and people lead and both are terrible choices. For one I always end up doing all the cash office investigations as it is because the current front end assistant doesn’t know how. Yet I think she is getting the job. So I see that putting more work on my plate as she will need more and more help doing her job. Not to mention she is just way too young and over her head for her current role. Why give her a pay raise to yield the same results? She already can’t staff correctly. Everyone under her quits or transfers because she’s horrible to people. She treats people that’s been with the company 20 plus years like sh*t. Yet she’s only 24. And the people lead? He’s even worse. He was ASM a few years ago, but couldn’t hack it. So he stepped down when they allowed them to when the first wave of changes was coming. But somehow managed to keep his salary the same. He is a support manager now, yet makes $22 an hour. He’ll get a $2 an hour pay raise and will be over the $48,500 assistants make. Therefore he’ll make more than ASMs for a flat 40 hours, yet we’re pulling on average 60 to 70 hours a week and told we need to do more for the store. Personnel is gone, fewer assistants, heavier work load, yet we’re not doing enough. As AP I rarely get to focus on AP because we’re always short handed assistants. I end up closing 3 nights a week and have been for the best yet part of this year. Then I get ripped because I’m not hitting certain numbers. There’s no way this change won’t put a ton more work on my plate (that I won’t be able to get to). When it does I’m dropping my keys off. I won’t be set up for failure.

So is it 10% increase from current pay?

First, there is not an ASM making less then $48,500. If someone was making less then that, they got bumped up to the minimal pay for the role. This occurred roughly a year ago.

Coaches will have a pay range of $55k to $75k, or 10% increase from current pay. One would assume that’s a possible average as someone making the current minimal salary, one would have to receive a little more then 10%, otherwise remaining salaries would receive 10%

Take this for what it's worth, but I've heard the salary is set on a market by market basis. ASMs start on a mean ave. of 40 K /yr.: cos = 60, so you can run the math on that easily enough.

The 'interview' itself is primarily a 1:1 walk & talk with the SM. Not much in the way of an office exchange. They want to learn your thoughts and approaches regarding the sales floor and back rooms.

Me? I'd look hard at other companies. Walfart is in trouble.

Minimal starting pay is 55k up to 75k. 15% bonus. For an ASM, this is considered a promotion. With respect to a co, it would be a lateral move.
