Continuous bad decisions by Noble's management team have driven this once great company into the ground. They are having to lay off key people to try and survive. 5 rounds in 4 years makes for paranoid non-productive employees and should send a clear message for anybody looking at Noble as an investment option or for a future employer.

Noble is about to hit rock bottom thanks to ds and his back slapping buddies in upper management and on the bod. Noble Energy used to be a family oriented company who took care of their employees. Once they bacame bp jr. they ceased to exist as a company that valued all of their employees. It is too bad that ds and his cronies have run the company into the ground. They buried it 6 years ago and will never recover. DS do the good employees a favor and retire. Give the good ones left a chance to try to right the sinking ship. Luckily I retired before ds took over and have seen a great company turn into a loser.

Recurring reorganizations are symptomatic of an inept management that can't think of anything else to do. Rearranging the deck chairs. Excluding the now-departed GoM, offshore exploration hasn't made a discovery since 2014.

Monday Eve and here we go about to start yet another week with no direction or purpose. Just another reorg that negates all that was accomplished since the last reorg. It all amounts to nothing but collecting a paycheck. We are literally the Walking Dead at Noble.
Good luck to you! I was in my late fifties and found something better. Now I thank the good lord for Noble laying me off! Things will work out! Really just about anything is better than Noble.
I talked with a recruiter yesterday who said he wouldn't place anyone at Noble anymore and that wasn't the case in 2008. BTW job hunting in my early 50s s—s. Very few jobs available. Thanks Noble. I know I will end up with something better, but I'm settling in for the long-term.
The bigwigs at Noble (engineers and finance guys) have decided that technical specialists are not needed anymore. They don't see any value in "science". Shocking and unbelievable.

I'm pretty bummed to hear what the previous poster just said. I work for a different E&P and the exact same thing is happening here; it's so demoralizing. We've lost almost all of our technical experts, either through resignations or ousting. And just very recently HR has taken over the development of our young technical staff. Downhill trend continues.

I currently work at Noble and am embarrassed at how inept management is as they have created a work environment where there has been an exodus of skilled technical people who have either quit or been laid off. The technical abilities of Noble are going from bad to worse. There are still several very good technical people still around, but with poor management leading them, this company is destined to fail. This is a bad company to work for and a bad company to invest in.

That's an absurd generalization. Just because they're men they somehow must not be capable of dealing with human beings? More like they make so much money it's easy to keep their mouths shut about stupid things that need to change. That is a genderless issue, showcased by many corporate executives of both s-xes.

Noble has no idea how to deal with human beings, especially upper management. At one time Noble said that their people were their most important asset, not anymore. Upper management is out of touch with the people that actually know what's going on. As long as they have the current managers in place Noble's performance and stock will suffer greatly.
Noble is characterized by tacky,less than mediocre mid and lower level managers who don’t have the wherewithal to formulate a plan and have it at the ready for their own team after this what, 4th, 5th lay-off that they’ve known about for months? Great work GUYS in stomping on morale and keep productivity in the lurch as you scramble like chickens to keep a semblance of organization. I give you a D-.
There is no viable “tomorrow “ for Noble. This company is self liquidating.
Noble has been a relationship based organization that has been identifying the leaders for tomorrow. I guess that is a nice way to say, you better be young and have friends in the right place if you want a good job. It's strange that actual job competence is not really considered in organizational development.

This not surprising. Layoffs at Noble are mostly decided on how well you kiss a– and s u c k - up. How well you do your job has nothing to do with it. That is why Noble is probably the worst run company in their peer group. They lay-off competent people and keep the a– kissers. There is nobody left that has a clue on what to do.
I heard one person got laid off from Denver either this week or last week. Heard he was smart and worked hard. But his manager (CC) did not like him so he got laid off. He might have been the only one on his floor too.
