Changes are working!!!!!
For whom. When the stock accidentally went up, hundreds of thousands of small investors dumped their stock. Including many thousands that work at Lowe’s.
Institutional investors (the ones on the quarterly conference calls asking softball questions) are the only ones who could think draconian cost cuts and heartless MASS LAYOFFS are actually “working “ to make Lowe’s great again. Oh and I almost forgot the stock buybacks meant to boost stock “value “.
I have a question for all you Marv fans. Have you ever seen anything at a Lowe’s store you couldn’t buy at Home Depot or a Menards?
But I know for sure there are lots of things you can buy at Home Depot and Menards that you will never find at Lowe’s!!
So, in the absence of outstanding service (which we are no longer staffed to provide) why would you shop where selections are limited and prices are the same or higher?
I wouldn’t and I don’t. Pro customer service is a joke at Lowe’s. I had a customer come to where I work now and say he was coming to me now because his Lowe’s store had really gone down hill in the last year or so. The last straw? The bathroom was filthy and no one seems to care at Lowe’s anymore.
So Marvin has made changes that have ruined morale and store conditions. I salute your stupidity and look forward to your thoughtless replies.

Brilliant, fair question.
HD beats our prices - FACT!
We both now have ZERO customer service.
Take all things into account, HD is better in every regard. There simply is NO reason to shop at Lowes.
All of our contractors have gone to Home Depot. We are like a graveyard every am, thanks to my store management who allowed Pro to go downhill for years by using them for everything but Pro, and now Marv's bs push for Pro which are all lies! We hire tyhe WORST, off the street Pro Specialists you can imagine. I personally had tow rok at Lowes for 7 years, from plant waterer, to installed sales, to Specialist b4 even being considerd for Pro. I put in my time, and know the job inside and out. The last 3 hires were so bad, with ZERO Genesis experience, or sales experience. No construction background, nothing!!! None have worked out. All have been fired or quit. Now they hired some PT student. How does this "serve the Pro customer?"
It doesnt, and corp knows it!!!
We have massive amounts of topstock collecting dust, customers in our store can't find help, one employee was pushed so hard he passed out on the floor, all experienced employees are looking for other jobs, one chick is so terrified of not being able to feed her kids because Lowe's is about restructure her position that she broke down and has admitted to s–c-dal thoughts, people are so disengaged they're completely ignoring shop lifters, some are so p-ss-d they're damaging product, others are recommending to customers that they spend their money elsewhere and not support what Lowe's is doing to their workforce. Marvin has done so much and I can only hope I'm around long enough to see this house of cards fall under the weight of his stupidity. It's so easy to use layoffs to boost stock price but it is not sustainable even in the best of situations and many of our stores are light years away from having stable conditions.
“I take it you’ve never heard of a little brand named craftsman? Allen and Roth? Kobalt? Minwax? Need I go on because I can if needed.“
Craftsman is associated with sears and ace and autozone and Kmart and and and...
Kobalt is being supplanted (replaced in case you don’t have a dictionary) by craftsman.
You can get minwax products at Walmart for god’s sake.
Allen and Roth??? Really. You think those are exclusive products? The only thing exclusive about them are the labels and boxes.
You are outmatched here on this forum. Please step off.
Add Kenmore to the brand list. What a get.
In the location I used to work, I’ve notice many improvements in the last 12 months. For one, customer engagement on the floor has improved dramatically—I rarely go in there and dont get asked multiple times if I need help. Also, in-stock levels have improved. Now as a customer, I like what I am seeing.
I take it you’ve never heard of a little brand named craftsman? Allen and Roth? Kobalt? Minwax? Need I go on because I can if needed.
Oh and the post about the assembly person quitting meant that he was laid off and then offered a new position at lower pay, and quit because that’s an insult. They had pride.
If you are going to insult the posters here at least take time to read correctly.
Prior two posts represent the thoughtless replies I mentioned.
What new exclusive product do you mean?
Assembly and gas didn’t quit genius. They were terminated across the company without an offer for another position and or pay cut. You must have been absent the week it all went down.
You must not get out to the floor much considering Lowes has several Lowe’s exclusive products available. Based on your lack of knowledge and need for wasting your time on this thread when you don’t even work at Lowes anymore is pathetic. Just another disgruntled crybaby failed employee looking for some attention. Get to your safe space before your feelings get hurt more than they already are .
Our assembly associate quit rather than take a pay cut, as did our FSA.
Out pickup desk girls have also turned in their resignations.
This makes another 4 experienced out the door.
True. It's all true
Folks continue to shop our store because the nearest big box competitor is 40 miles away. Our sales would drop sharply if another chain built closer, or if they realized that local lumber yards, hardware, department and specialty stores have what we do, many times at comparable or better pricing, with better service.
