Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Hopefully prospective employers don’t view this site.

If prospective future employers see all the complaint from employees complaining about doing their job, being expected to be productive, to be safe and being expected to follow rules... they’ll see a UP employee come in for an interview, be nice and you’ll never hear from them again. They don’t want cancer to permeate their business. Just saying.

Oh look actually lance is up to 15% approval on Glassdoor now. Now did suddenly 3% more people in the company change their minds in the last week and start approving of him or did UP do a bunch more fake reviews? Cause he was at 12. Lol. The propaganda machine is working on overdrive.

Yeah trust me employers see Lance’s 11% approval rating and don’t need to ask why you left.
I don’t think they could even ask you with a straight face. Probably would burst out into laughter.

OP: did you mean to say employees?

Employers probably don't spend a lot of time here, but UP upper management makes the occasional guest appearance. Employers and employees alike do spend a lot of time on sites like Glassdoor and Indeed though, and UP not only has more reviews on both than almost any other large company, but the reviews are overwhelmingly negative. Everyone from agreement labor to directors clearly hate working there. Apparently, everyone currently working at UP who has a LinkedIn profile is actively looking for another job.

Pro tip: don't complain about the railroad to corporate recruiters. Most have never worked for a railroad, and they want to hear about your skills and experience, not what you hate about UP management. A lot of x-UP people crank on about the dysfunction of the railroad during interviews only to wonder why they're not getting offers.

They value employees, just look at the locomotive they are painting in support of them and of course free hot dog feeds. If that ain’t love and support than I don’t know what is!!!

Most companies value their employees. Unless of course they see one that’s lazy, complains about rules or a chronic complainer. For those good employees who were let go you’ll be fine.

My current boss only asked why in the world would any furloughed employee ever want to go back to UP if they got called. He values his employees. Hmmmm

Naw I doubt it. Anytime I’ve ever said anything to anyone at my new job about my former life at UP they are astounded that I lasted as long as I did and wonder what’s wrong with the company and ask why anyone would want to work there at all. Nice try though. Also if an employer felt that way why would he invite you in for the interview at all with UP on your resume? Does he have nothing else to do but interview people he has no interest in? Lol. Such an id–tic scenario.

Everyone knows that Union Pacific s—s. It's not exactly a secret. I told my present employer that the U.P. treats employees like garbage. Honesty will get you way farther than saying lying about the place. EVERYONE KNOWS UP IS TOXIC. It's nothing more than greed.
