Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Change in operational hours

A lot of talk about the Q2 broadcast. Has anyone seen it? The talk is that by 2020 operational hours will be 40% of payroll instead of 60%. This means Back End, Delivery, and Cash Office will need payroll hours cut.

Is this true? Where does it say this? Can we get a link, please?

How do they figure it's 60% now? They must be adding in the hours from the entire company, not just the stores.

Looks like they are setting up everything to sell the company to Amazon

We need more boots on the ground in the aisles, and fewer positions in support areas. We have more room for efficiency. Merge RTM/receiving clerk, consolidate delivery and receiving where they both work together more. Where possible they will probably continue to farm out delivery to third party.

It means the company is trying to put more hours on the sales floor with customers and less in non customer facing position. Really pretty simple. They don’t say anything about cutting but instead shifting to sales floor.
