Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Secret layoffs?

I've been hearing my co-workers mention getting a lot of failed delivery messages on their larger meeting notices. Seems like GM is cutting away.

As long as Mott runs IT, there will always be layoffs it IT. That’s how he rolled at HP. Don’t believe me, ask any HPer still employed at GM.

I never see Bolts in public, just in GM's parking lot.

Like the other poster, I see teslas pretty often.

If GM is betting the company on an electric future, they're not off to a great start.

I saw one Bolt over the last year. I have seen many Tesla's.

Are they leaving because they got laid off, or are they going voluntarily to more stable companies?

There is definately a regular drip feed of people leaving, almost a weekly occurence in the building I'm in.

Are they going to delay until February again?

It was recently announced that there would be no “second wave” of headcount reductions this year. So there’s that to ease your mind.

Interesting to see the recent message about corporate priorities beyond catering to shareholders now that the February severance checks are about to stop.
