Don’t get me wrong, I know that getting to stay at this company is not exactly like winning the bingo, so I'm going to keep the champagne on ice even if layoffs stop at that point, but this is a job that pays the bills and I was hoping to get some opinions on whether we have the right to hope that we’re going to feel just a little safer if we reach 2020 without getting laid off?

2020 was just a goal year. The PSR model never ends. This is the new railroad.
I’ve been thinking about this question quite a bit. While I wish I had something profound to say, sadly I think that workforce reductions have become an established norm. With that said, all the more reason for us to be empathetic and patient with each other as we navigate this new norm.
2020 will turn into 2022 and it won’t stop just get used to it or quit. This isn’t the place to work unless you don’t value your sanity.
Ok why the f— is the CN involved? You say reliable source, but failed to mention the actual source. Ok so you heard from a reliable source at the CN, that more UP cuts are coming? Did I miss something in the post?
Not a f—ing chance. If you understand the PSR model, then you'd know that the cuts will happen anywhere, and at any time. Just because you made it to 2020, doesn't mean you're safe at all. I know some of the d-bags townhall videos he clearly stated "through 2020". If there's a place they can cut to save money, they will do it. If you make it to 2020, then that's great. I'll be happy for you. Please for the love of god, DO NOT LET YOU GUARD DOWN AND THINK YOU'RE SAFE NOW!
Stfu with that reliable source bs..
No, expect more cuts to come. From what ive been hearing from a reliable source from CN is that the big kahuna is still coming. Dont buy a house
