I'm very grateful for bikers and veterans right now. Once I shared what Lowe's was doing to employees it really hit all the wrong buttons with them. Between the bike shops and the American Legion post 7 individuals and one owner with 4 shops through the state have agreed to stop doing business with Lowe's. They can spin things however they want but the public will trust those they know before companies and the media any day.

We need to organize. Unionize. They shut the store down as a result? Feign ignorance and apply to a nearby store. Then do it again. They aren't willing to shoot themselves in the foot twice.
Open door policies gave us 10 hour shifts. Open door gave us 6 weekends a year. Open door took away two damn days off in a row. Open door might as well be an open garbage chute. We can do better if we act together.
I've actually discussed my worries with my church group. No one should go to work everyday expecting to be fired. The constant threat is too much and I plan on retiring at the beginning of the year. As much as I have loved my job, my coworkers, and my customers I can't be a part of this. With any luck people will go elsewhere rather than support what Lowe's has become. All we can do is tell people the truth.
It is a very different company, for employees and customers, than when I came on board over 15 years ago.
Most people I talk to and read comments on Lowe's all pretty much say the same thing , THE PLACE IS A JOKE! But yes, I tell everyone not to patronize Lowe's. Most people only go there if they are hard up for something, maybe it's less of a drive. As for their pro sales, only the little contractor's go there, because it's the only game in our town. They do not get the big contractor's, they go to the local companies for quality products and service and they will never get them to buy from a place that is a total joke. The contractor's that do stop in make fun of Lowe's and their stupid, on going idea's, they keep trying to do to drum up business. Like window washing stations and taking away parking area's for trailer loading.
