Thread regarding Union Pacific Corp. layoffs

Cowardly management.

Wish mid management and upper management were not so Spineless. Seems like they run blindly into the night with whatever they are told from the higher ups. They dont question anything. I dont think they try to save jobs whatsoever, at least they don't talk about trying to save jobs. They seem so brainwashed from this whole psr movement. I understand their bonuses get bigger from the cost savings from furloughs but be a human being and fight for your people. Dont be a coward.

If you were valuable enough to them why would they stifle you? Doesn’t make sense. And why on earth would a lateral move be kept under the table? Doesn’t make sense either.

Yes, management is scared too.

This is why they engage in all forms of self preservation. Such as busrolling, stacking the deck with nepotism and old boy hires, under the table lateral moves, rankings, stock/bonuses

Ups management is so rotten it cant be fixed. Ever. Ask me, i was a band c manager.

It’s always amazed me that employees that complain the most about management and as the title of this post refers to cowardly management... are almost in all cases are too scared or ill equipped to become a manager. They can complain all day everyday, yet won’t step up and even try to make things better. Perhaps they feel real men aren’t leaders. That real men sit back and complain about those “cowards” that have the courage to step up and be accountable. It’s a strange world they live in.

You’re wrong, managers are afraid of their jobs more than you think, also they’re afraid to express their opinion because if they piss someone off they get walked off the property.

Correct. They’ probably won’t get fired for expressing their opinion. The poster said fight, not express. Fighting may very well get them fired. Senior leadership wants can do attitude not can not attitude.

They are not going to get fired for expressing their opinion/feelings. Have A SPINE. Plus isnt UP always talking about employee empowered. Seems like they should try what they preach.

They can fight against it and be out of a job too. You act as if psr is new and they don’t know what can be done. They do. So fight against their bosses and they’re out too. How does that change anything? It doesn’t and it won’t. Just another family without a job.
