Thread regarding NetApp layoffs

Kurian k--led Netapp ( - or at least the culture)

I believe that the twin Netapp inherited from Oracle never has understood what Netapp was all about - and that is where most of the current problems started !
Not fully understanding the basic business (storage) and getting blinded by the cloud forecast has thrown the company into a severe headwind!
Trusting those cloud people mostly from a failed startup ( Solidfire - which is dead!!)) has caused all the misery ... all the good and trustworthy people are leaving or has left as they have no future and with them the customers ...

Just my 2c ..

NetApp acquisition history is a joke. They acquire and squash. Damn near every time.

Is the screed on being proud of NetApp sarcasm. Please say it is. The acquisition history of NetApp is appalling. If it isn't ontap it eventually dies

A few of my favorite things about working for NetApp.

  1. We don't funnel our overseas profits through the Netherlands to the Bahamas, where the board is registered.
  2. We don't sell to the Saudi Government and Israeli Armed Forces.
  3. Everyone of our acquisitions has gone flawlessly to the great benefit of the company.

And to the purported board member who replied you are reading these threads you should be ashamed of your inaction. You have left a lot of employees in quite a mess with your lack of leadership accountability! Shame on you!

When a leader has no ability to sense, pick and retain the best talent, they should not be the CEO. He has little or no ability to pick and retain key talent. Look who is left....the worst leaders in the company....Henri, Sheila, Anthony, etc. These people are political hacks that have contributed minimally to the good and materially for the worse. But let's not forget...this is a public company with a BOARD...who is as horrible as the CEO. Look at the talent (or lack thereof) on the board....mid tier talent at best and many has beens. They are to blame for a great deal of this because they have not held Kurian accountable. My guess is the lawsuits will have the board involved as well.

Culture revolves around cliques. People s—ing up all the way uo to their manager's manager's manager, trying to stay relevant, and the bootlickers do get rewarded being part of the clique.
