Plain and simple: Lowe’s is rejecting tenured associates for other job postings either in their own store, or for positions at other stores. Now that the store level HR’s are gone, the mission is clear: deny the applicants with seniority a chance to interview.Talent Acquisition at corporate has their marching orders. There is ZERO transparency about the hiring process, and it is by design.

Lowe's is t worth dog chit.
To the corporate troll saying, Lowe's had one of it's best quarter's in a decade, stock up 12%. Did you forget? That a couple of month's ago, Lowe's stock dropped 12% in one day? So what was gained? ZERO!
You usually don’t get to be tenured if you are NOT good at your job, or have a good work ethic. I don’t know of any eight years plus veterans that don’t perform their jobs well. Blows that comment up doesn’t it?
Lowe’s just had one or best quarters in a decade!!! Stock up 12% , guess Marvin has been right !!!!
Tenure means nothing if your not good at your job.
My store promotes based on work ethic, not tenure. Tenure means both if your not good at your job and don’t apply yourself.
i'm not so sure about that dead weight specialist comment though. What i do know is i wish i had a dollar for every time we specialists are called out of the break room because other associates cannot explain the digital inverter compressors on that fridge or the difference in cleaning between an impeller washer vs an agitator. Have some specific plumbing issues and questions??.....i am certain any ol' part time associate can guide you to a successful project
Those that are tenured will do fine as long as they acquiesce, either take on more responsibility and/or accept it with no or little increase, or agree to demote and take on lesser pay. They days of in-store, non-management jobs paying a high wage are over.
Sounds like corporate trolls or SM’s are trolling this site.
Very true.
You're probably apart of the 50% of lowes that is dead weight like "specialists" that think their to good to lift anything.
Indeed; it’s been going on for years at my store. Long time, hard-working, associates being passed over for 20 somethings that do nothing. Even worse are the Home Depot hires; the do less.
Maybe you’re just not worth a shot? Maybe stop blaming others for your failures. People in tenure are getting promoted at our store just fine.
I’ve been saying this for two years now—the company is transforming into a majority part-time work force in the stores. If you want full-time with benefits, eventually you will have to accept a management position. That’s the direction that the company is headed in.
