Agreed. I have friends who went to Samsung. Samsung would build their own fab first. Neither Intel, nor Samsung have any interest in Global. Someone else will likely buy it for pennies on the dollar. Then they will have to clean the fridge and get rid of any IBM leftovers.
If Samsung ever gets Fab8, the offer would include the FAB8 site for free +cash, same deal when ibm sold Fab10 to GF

Doesn’t seem like jobs are being transferred, what happens to the GF workers in BTV ?
Maybe. I think I would rather be acquired by Toppan than continue working for GF though. Of course, the day is coming when all of Globalflounderies will be owned by someone else. I don't see us lasting past 2021.
