Very pretentious, original poster... (and a few others.)
The whole Permian is a false target, which is why so many companies there can be had at bargain rates. Despite all the noise, there are few real profits from the whole play. The attraction is quick returns during a time big long-term projects are harder to risk than before (not the least due to potential climate inspired changes in the regulatory environment). The false hope comes from conventionals in Iran, Venezuela, Russia and elsewhere that could open taps and crush shale returns. Chevron needs to choose its directions very wisely.
Ask yourself why is it that we should or must acquire any company? Most oil and gas companies acquire other companies only to replace oil reserves. If that’s the main reason, ask yourself the next question— Why can’t we find and produce enough additional reserves with the assets and leases we currently have? Maybe the people we currently employ in our Business Development units need to be replaced first.

Chevron CEO is thinking of buying the Island of Saphos.
Chevron should be considering buying CVX - if you’re here to speculate......make sure that your false suggestions favor CVX. No more losses. In CVX and MW we trust.
I can assure you that a sizable chunk of people at all three of those companies are desperate for a change. They're the s—ers at the poker table, just bleeding chips all night until the next blind knocks them out of the game.
