Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

How’s it been

It’s been three weeks since the store, restrooms etc have been cleaned. I’m sure none of the equipment has been serviced. All the other FSA duties have either been dumped on others or not happening.
How many unsatisfied customers have complained due to no one doing assembly on a daily basis.

All I know is Lowes has never taken care of me right no matter what I'd done for them. All I know is I'd better receive ALL my 401k when I request it or they'll be in the national news again... crying

Agree about assembly. Our FSA was an older, semi-retired guy that made few mistakes but had a very low build rate and was out the door by 10am on Fridays. The new third party has been cranking out grills and mowers 5 times faster than he ever did.

At my store the cashiers empty the trash at night from everywhere along the front of the store including the cans out front. They also sweep the restrooms and clean the break room. I did see a third party cleaning crew practicing using the zamboni in the center aisle; one guy drove it out from the back and the rest of the crew took turns driving it to lumber and back. Aside from the zamboni not much has changed; our FSA mopped the floors and never used the pressure washer with hepastat to sanitize.

As for assembly our ISLG were told to sell what’s been built; everything that was in a box has been palletized and placed in top stock to get ready for trim a tree and other holiday displays. Our assembly guy was rather rude and won’t be missed.

Our store is cleaned twice daily with no issues. They do a fine job. Don’t get me started on assembly. It’s amazing how much production you get out of someone when there is incentive. Works two days a week and builds more that our old full timer and part timer combined. No issues with anything falling apart yet either.

When you go to a 3rd party service, there is no vested interest from that side. Its a one-sided victory, where customers, and employees suffer.
Lowe's KNOWS when CPO and XPO took over from Lowe's staff of installed sales, and then deliveries, BOTH TANKED! They are still complete failures. I could list 1000 incidents with XPO that would blow your mind but why bother? We all know its 100% horrendous service. Customers have left in DROVES, thanks to the failure and service of XPO alone.

The more staff these corp mo–ns cut, the more 3rd party they bring in, the worse things will get. Its an already proven track record. Just as JCP Penny, or Sears how that worked out for them.

I generally fall on the side of supporting the company but on this issue I think they’ve made a huge mistake. Third party services will not render the results that in-house did in assembly and FSA. They are really accountable to no one in the stores and will come and go as they want. The result? Management in most of the stores will have to scramble to get store employees to handle the overflow on both assembly and keeping the restrooms up to standards—which means cashiers and receiving personnel will probably be the main ones made to help in both of these areas.
