Has anyone heard if the Kid's lead position will be eliminated? With the new Dayforce update leads will now be scheduled all over the store and not really be given exclusive time in the department. I can't help but wonder if the job will be gone soon???

thats cute, OP...this is nothing new for our store. our kids lead hasnt had time to do a lot of things in kids dept...help customers, do zone maintenance and resets, etc... for most of the week, theyre at cashwrap and ringing in cafe. fun right? Its like they are a head cashier who also helps out in cafe sometimes.
We were just told that as kids leads we would be scheduled in cafe and cash wrap... cs I understand maybe....but cafe?
We've had some good people who sold lots of books and member cards and our id–t District Manager and SM, didn't care- they'd fire them just to save money!
B&N Mgt makes the dumbest decisions I've ever seen in all my years of retail!
And doesn't that say a lot about B&N ?

They were kept, while they fired THOUSANDS in 2018. You didn’t think your time was coming ? They don’t care what knowledge you have ( ask an ex bargain lead. An ex digital lead. An ex receiving manager) the only value you have for them is how much money they can save when they throw you out too.
Listen, if you are making more as aLead and still have HealthBenefits, it will be gone soon. There is no way they will keep you at that status if they just start re-positioning you throughout the store. And doesn't that say a lot about B&N? They will not have a lead in the Childrens'Dept ... someone who knows the product and can make recs.
There are def a lot of questions that are not being answered right now not sure how things are going to pan out
