At the time I left WM 3 + years ago I'd been in produce for 7 years. The pressures coming down on us were enormous, unfeasible and unrelenting. The dept. manager, who'd been in that role for almost 15 years, suddenly dropped down to dairy stocker, taking a huge pay cut.

What I remember most about my last days there were these Nazi - like troops of managers constantly stomping through produce, nit picking everything to death. * NOTHING* was good enough or even satisfactory. It was an iron fist ruled environment of relentless tension and anxiety, and one by one, the MM had everyone there at that time picked off—either made to transfer departments, quit, or be fired.

Anyone who isn't vested in Walmart so much they literally have absolutely no choice but to stay, you gotta have rocks in your head not to leave.

Long term associates will be let go. New people brought in for less $$. Members po'd because nothing is stocked until they leave and join Costco. Ditto for all other departments.
