Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

C8 Corvette is hideous!

They benchmarked a Ferrari 458 Italia and this is what we get in return haha
It's a clone and the public is non the wiser
Pathetic GM, pathetic.

If the C8 has room for 19 speakers and room for high watt amps to upgrade nice sound I say the C8 is best car ever

Usually new models grow on me after a time. I hated c7 at first. Now I like it. But c8 gets uglier as time goes on. Major fail in styling.

It’s time for GM to throw in the towel. After decades of building embarrassingly inferior automobiles car buyers have largely written off GM. This began happening a long, long time ago. When the Japanese perfected auto manufacturing in the 80’s GM went dark. GM is like a very dim candle ready to blow out. I personally couldn’t give a rat’s backside if the corporation faded into oblivion. Enough is enough. GM once stood proud eons ago. But with poor leadership, cr---y cut rate cars, and a paper trail of recalls and deaths from faulty ignition systems, GM will never ever be a respected auto division, while the foreign competition continues to sl------r them. The “new GM” moniker is just a cheap front to try and hoodwink prospective car buyers to purchase their junk. Say goodnight GM we’ve had enough of your deceit.

Just Plain Hideous, I can't wrap my head around how GM went through with the design, this car is just PLAIN UGLY, from every angle, so much that no amount of performance and how much of a $ bargain it is won't sway me to even think about it. It's a shame that we are utterly unable to compete in this segment...

The big open radiators in the front get beat up in a matter of hundreds of miles. Since they are very prominent on the front end, the car that supposed to look so good looks beat up soon after purchase.

Who was responsible for saying that the little aluminum fins should be highly visible and in an area prone to damage. With all the testers, calibrators, engineers, and technicians involved with this car, how could nobody have said, "that would really annoy me that happened to my brand new sports car." This was a known issue that would have direct negative effect on the customer that was let out the door because that is how General Motors works.

Every General Motors vehicle bears the scars from a incurable and debilitating infection of politics and corruption.

C8 tis trash.. I’m sorry it is just horrendously hideous. Honestly the only thing worse than the vehicle itself is the person driving it thinking they are in a Ferrari. I live in Santa Monica and work in Beverly Hills/Bel Air so have a fairly constant dose of true supercars and every time I see this thing I want to vomit in my mouth. Such a disjointed disappointment.. It’s awful. Period.

The C8 is deliberatly ugly. It has to be done on purpose. I mean every corvette always has something amiss. The C6 was almost perfect except for the rear glass, leaf springs and boring interior. The C7 has good performance, nice interior but underwhelming wheels, large wheel arches and too much body with leaf springs; not to mention the odd wheel offset for the base model. Why is there even a narrow body base model. They all should start with 500HP and a clean wide body ( no splitter, side skirts, etc..). Clean but still a wide body. The C8 was the chance to get it all right and they could have. Except this time we get the performance but everything else s—s. At least it doesn't have leaf springs. Does it really cost more to draw a s-xy body.

C8 is truly a cheap ugly wannabe Ferrari. Ugly air scoop that is on the door. Ridiculous jetson style interior, especially the center console. Ridiculous creases through out the body of the car. Bottom line - low class garbage for the gullible uninformed.

C8 is ugly. Who puts an air scoop on the door. Also the interior is something you'd see on the jetsons, ridiculous. They should have stuck with the C7. Or if they wanted a mid engine model, they should have designed one that had some class and not a hodgepodge of design cues that are an abobination.

I have a c6 Z06, to me the C6 is the most gorgeous corvette ever made. Not crazy about the c7, but compared to the C8, the C7 is gorgeous. This is not a corvette and gm totally sold out. If I want an exotic o would buy an exotic. Oh well, no new corvette for me. I will stick with my 2010 Z06 and my 2019 Camaro ss 1le. I would buy a v8 challenger or v8 mustang before I spend money on this ugly vehicle they call a corvette. Shame on them.

Ugly is all I can say. I own a fully loaded 2016 C7 convertible with a ZO7 package and the car and it’s lines are just beautiful. I was going to trade it in for the new Vette. Looking at this thing forget it deals off. I’ll be modifying my C7 and my next Vette will be a classic instead. GM should be embarrassed.

Dude I couldn't agree more. Don't forget Duntov and Larry Shinoda!
THAT IS NO CORVETTE!
CORVETTE USED TO MEAN SOMETHING, NOT ANYMORE! PLEASE MAKE IT LOOK LIKE A STINGRAY, AT LEAST MAKE THE EFFORT TO BE CREATIVE! THE FORD GT IN MY OPION IS WHAT THE CORVETTE SHOULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE! HIRE THOSE DESIGNER'S ASAP. RUESS AND BARRA NEED TO GO NOW!

I still don't understand why so many internet articles are swooning over the LT2! Is it just because of the price?
That thing looks awful! Disproportionate and ugly headlights, weird rear deck, overly done lines on the hood, ricer-looking wing, and bowel-churning rear shape... WHY!? Do people really have that low standards these days? The engineering hadn't even sorted out all the bugs yet

Reuss is in the car because the monstrosity is HIS baby. He's the exec that finally delivered what the customers weren't asking for.

Worst interior EVER
The exterior looks like a 6 year old took a Ferrari and added jagged edges ALL OVER IT to try to make it not look like a Ferrari. Then, when he was done, his 8 year old brother added even more jagged edges to it.

Not that it's surprising. GM styling is at an all-time low. Harley Earl and Bill Mitchell are rolling over in their graves.

The publicity department is in overdrive trying to convince us the Corvette C8 is revolutionary in mid-engine design and overall fiberglass treatment. I agree it is a hideous exercise developed by the styling committee as a single stylist effort wouldn't have gotten away with this.

Fortunately there are still over 6200 C7s on the lot. I'll take the blue one please.

Web of lies, the truth is the public isn't onboard, with Mary's future.
People are onboard with choice and that choice is gas and Diesel engines along with the choice to buy EVs if they want, People want to pull camping trailers and want gigantic trucks, I want these companies to offer a little bit of everything to the customer and not limit itself, People will never stop driving a gas powered anything especially hot rodders with classic cars and the future classics like a Dodge Challenger or that totally tits mega powered Camaro! Stop Mary just stop and wake up!
