Schlumberjunk’s name in North America is lower than whale sh– at the bottom of the ocean. They are done in the US, maybe some brown people in other countries may throw them a bone on occasion but other than that they’re toast.

The leaving CEO left a company without a soul, with unmotivated people in the frontlines, the highest levels of cynicism in the geomarkets and a majority of ambitious, egoistic backstabbers, yes-sayers, strategically-blind executive management, some of whom lack basic competencies in management, really, basic stuff.

From our values of "People, Profits and Technology" we were only left to pursue profits.

He never understood the concepts of leading with the example, or that people in the field is the one adding real value to the company, your real assets, or that we are a "services" company and clients should be our focus. He actually rarely met with clients and employees himself (apart from the image and coverall face wash they did last year), his only focus seemed to be investors and market analysts, and that transpired down to the organisation very quickly.

The new CEO will have a tremendous task trying to revert the current situation and get employees to be motivated and be proud of working for SLB again. Good luck!

He left behind the EVP tech ? With his Digital, Robotics, Transformation, Machine learning, Cognitive, Cloud ... buzzwords. Any idea when this man and the VPs associated to these words will be let go? Certainly more than a person from the top down would be happy to see Schlumberger hand them over a few mills over the next 3 years for the greater good. #stopthehemorrhage

The most boring CEO that Schlumberger has ever had, leaving a brainless army of millennial SLB-bots, programmed with blue chips, Yes-Sir hard-wired codes, wholeheartedly transformed and fully engaged. It seems that we hold a special place in his heart and that he loves Schlumberger, or at least what is left of it. Understandably so, when he has sunk the company but has still departed with an accumulated 100+ million USD in his fjord-deep pockets.

Read the Q2 earnings transcripts. Paal Kickass is still so proud of transformation and digital strategy baloney.

  1. Jumping wholeheartedly into deep water with the Cameron and onesubsea acquisition just as the market tanked
  1. Billion dollar debts from doing business with bankrupt Latin American state oil companies just as everybody else was pulling out
  1. Share price on the floor
  1. Failure to establish market leading position in US shale
  1. No clear strategy to grow the company
  1. Spending billions on a digital strategy which hasn’t generated any revenues. PK pipe dream
  1. Not understanding or caring what SLB clients really need

The worst CEO ever
