It’s very easy for someone to say “Why not quit?” When they aren’t in your circumstances.
First, some people who have been employed at Lowe’s for a long time, it was once a decent place to work. Then the changes came. But if you’ve worked for Lowe’s for years and built up pay, benefits, vacation time, etc, it’s not so easy to just walk away. Even if you want to do it.
Secondly, if you jump ship to a new retailer after years at Lowe’s, you wind up at the bottom, working your way up again. The company knows this, believe me. And there are places in this country that literally have no other jobs than retail. There’s no other option other than to work for a place like Lowe’s. The company knows this too.
And why should you have to quit? Is it too much to ask that you be treated like a human being and paid a decent wage? Is treating your associates like people instead of cattle too much to ask? You act like the complaints on sites like this are just the idle whining of losers. I’ve read a lot of the points made on this site and while some are pointless, some are legitimate criticisms and complaints. We shouldn’t have to jump ship to another employer if this company would simply live up to its promises and policies. Be the company you say you are Lowe’s. Then sites like this wouldn’t exist!
Perfectly said, @104zyF0W-2ifi.
