If who ever had their kids design the new logo knew anything about science as opposed to how to ruin a company they would have realized the actual "bucky ball" consists of "cage-like fused-ring structure (truncated icosahedron) that resembles a soccer ball (football), made of twenty hexagons and twelve pentagons".

They could have use the pentagons as a reference to the business structure aligned with the department of defense and perhaps the hexagon as a view to the future Space Force but instead they went with triangles, perhaps a future looking statement to the sale ofthe company to one of the big 3...

I agree with you. Your suggestions are way better than the current logo we have. I think it's a temporal thing. Most likely, the new entity will be acquired by Honeywell or Boeing. The whole thing from a logo creation to a slogan "Fast. Forward" is very poorly thought-out.... And yes, whoever came with this logo has no idea about science.....
