All offshore employer on the assets as well as office employees transferred to the buyer. The management team (roughly 6) all moved on (most of them had new positions lined up in other locations already). ETC and NOJV moved to a smaller office in centre of Aberdeen (approx 50 folks)
Rubislaw office rebranded with new company branding and all staff including new folks all housed there.
Most staff folks got a nice Xmas bonus when all their stock turned tax free and they cashed them in

What was the final tally on who stayed, who move over and who moved on?

The deal for CUE was done last Friday. CUE no longer exists, only presence is a little office housing ETC and some NOJV people and some other long serving Chevron hangers on who do diddly squat!
No more nice little business trips to Aberdeen to pump up your airmiles.

Sounds like a win-win for all parties.

All 450 staff and contractors are moving across to the buyer (Ithaca Energy). Lots of older long serving employees have grabbed their pensions and are already off. The leadership team all have new jobs already lined up for them. Latest takeover date is early November, can't come soon enough !!

The downturn has affected the African region as well so job vacancies are very minimal.

If history repeats itself (big "IF"), most Brits who don't go w/ the buyer of CUE will have opportunity to pursue jobs in West Africa and Tengiz. Very few will get opportunities long-term in the U.S.

How many employees will support European Downstream from London? Lubricants, S&T and Oronite will continue in Europe— 10 - 20 employees at WFC or West End of London ?

Those working in Aberdeen or offshore in the North Sea will be transferred to the new company. Those working on overseas assignments will likely complete their assignments, some will go onto further assignments others will probably be paid off. The company is not going to create new jobs for them in Houston or anywhere else simply to “absorb” them. Many of the U.K. expats are in their 50’s with some older and would probably welcome early retirement with a two year salary payoff.

There are hundreds of UK expats all over the world already. Nearly 100 in Houston alone. Not sure how many can be absorbed into this "American" company.

Lots of CUE employees are working on FGP right now and will be rotating to Kazakhstan. The future looks grim for them. They can probably stay on FGP, if they don’t get called back to be sold off to the buyer along with the assets.

They will very unlikely get sent to Houston like previous posted said. The simple reason is they don’t have the right to work in the USA without perpetual sponsorships. Secondly they are on UK payroll, so they would be considered expats in the USA and there are few expat jobs available in the USA currently within chevron. Individual BUs have to not only sponsor the visa, but pay expat allowances and premiums. Not gonna happen.

The company won’t transfer them to US payroll unless they have the right word work in the USA. Also us pay is significantly higher than UK pay at the same psg.

What will most likely happen when CUE is sold is most employees will go along with the sale. The high potential employees may get transferred to US global offshore payroll and retain while they have work for them.

CUE employees will transfer over to the buyer. The sale is not yet complete.

Only if you're willing to move to Houston or Kazakhstan.
