What they've done in past re-orgs and currently doing in Burbank, is laying off departments but telling the victims that their jobs are being "reclassified" and they are welcomed to interview. Then Disney hires back the more junior employees thus avoiding ageism blowback. I've known of about five or six 25+ year employees that have been pushed out in this way.

This is true. One of my Disney co-workers in burbank was fired because of a "security leak" (completely fabricated). They replaced him (a licensed industry experienced engineer) with a new young person who has absolutely no experience in engineering (but they told us she is a "quick learner").
