Are any current customers commenting on here as to what may ultimately happen to them?

Any current customers here want to chime in?
Yeah yesterday there was a voice outage that I know affected portions of Georgia and South Carolina for the most part of the day due to I believe a fiber cut.
Just know what you're getting into and don't quit looking if you do get hired. Basically everyone is miserable and facing uncertain or bleak futures. But there are still opportunities to gane experience.
"Would anyone recommend working at Windstream"
You can go work there if you want an uncertain job situation. If they hire you, they could lay you off in a few months because of continuing 'cash problems'. Most groups you would work in - except the executive leadership - would have low morale. And that's from the people who like working there. Most everyone is down on the leadership - but if you want to do the job of 10 or 20 people that used to do the job - go ahead. You will learn a lot fast. Benefits are better than not having any, but the 401K is probably more like .401k if you use WIN stock.
If the company comes out of Chapter 11 in decent shape - always the possibility parts of the company get sold off to a better outfit that takes care of their employees and network - so you never know what can happen.
Good Luck!
Would anyone recommend working at Windstream? All these posts are awful and I’m trying to figure out how many of these posts are angry former employees. You don’t have to respond but please click like if you would work at Windstream
"We had a horrible voice outage and are looking at other options."
Business as usual for the outsourced support groups. TT and the Zombies are saving money, that's what matters.
Depending where you are located, you shouldn't have any issues migrating to a more stable competitor - one that you know is more financially stable and actually cares about its network and employees.
We had a horrible voice outage and are looking at other options.
Woohoo, got a letter today from the court about the bankruptcy.
We are looking to move services as well. Currently though we cannot get a straight answer from Windstream when our contract(s) does exactly expire (gotten 10 different answers and variations from Windstream s-called account and care representatives), this is what happens when do you not have account executives that actually know their customers. We know when they should but obviously don't want there to be some fallout later when they say they are owed money for not meeting commitment.
We are a “current” Elite customer and I was a former employee who was laid off last year. Every since landing here I have actively been moving the company away from WS. Several sites have been ported and disconnected of all services and we have a few more coming up next month.
The bankruptcy news has accelerated our efforts and I still check in from time to time here as I have many friends at WS that I still hope the best for them and try to persuade them to get while the gettings good before for their local market is saturated.
I know some customers who had a contingency play of Win entered bankruptcy.
Others are waiting for their contract to expire. Sorry sales team, but continue to play your iPads and forecast $0.
One day last mile transport will go down when the other company creates project burn. Sprint is going to cut the LD off next
Wait until your vendors cut you off.
For many of us in very rural areas, we have 1 choice for TV (SATV) and only 2 Choices for Internet/Phone (Windstream or SAT) and we just ordered the 50 mps ADSL upgrade that is supposed to be installed next Tuesday. Today we got the letter from Windstream Holding's Inc. about the bankruptcy. SATV for Internet/phone is a No-Go for us as it has a huge delay and caps on it so we cannot even use our monitored alarm systems in our home and buildings on the property as they do not work efficiently with Internet or phone monitoring through SAT. Cell service out here is pretty much dependent on the internet as we are in between towers. Yep we are in the middle of Gods country.
I run a small construction business and at one time had a 5mb EIA from Windstream. It cost roughly $400 a month and included a fax line. I called to double the speed to 10mb and of course, they just wanted to double the price to $800 per month. I ended up calling the local cable tv company to see what they could offer. I now pay $250 for a 300mb service plus a few other add ons. Yes, it is shared bandwidth BUT if I only get 1/10th of what I pay for it is still 3 times better than what WS could give me and much more affordable. I also had issues with the EIA when it rained (soft wraps galore around here).
Funny or not, but as a customer we have gotten any notification of their bankruptcy. No snail mail, e-mail, etc. Only found out from watching the financials. Concern also is that one day, just like WOW air yesterday, you will show up and the doors are closed.
I got an official looking notice in the mail to Windstream customers today. Unless you looked closely, it looked like it was from Windstream.
I opened it up and it was an announcement that Windstream was in bankruptcy and Spectrum (aka Charter aka Time Warner) was there to bail us out.
The nation's sorriest, sleaziest cable company going after its most troubled telco -- it's great to be sought after but I kind of wished it would be by a classier pair.
Like Cinderella, except it's not the prince but those damn rats that pull my pumpkin that are chasing me.
I support a few customers that are $20k MRC. Atleasst once a week I am being ask to participate in disaster recovery and testing backup services. If all of our customers don't say it they are thinking it. One of them even joked about their SDWAN going down and how to fail over if WIN fails. I know the competition is using that to their advantage.
I work for a big enterprise that's an ILEC customer. We're worried - not that the ILEC will cease operations but that it'll get further hollowed out.
I'm following this board and the bankruptcy.
I doubt it. If they read the info on this site they’d already be gone.
