Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Retail Death

It starts in the Board room as the CEO teases its members with unbridled stock advances. It moves to the main floor where managers march their orders to the unending beat of the bonus they crave, the bonus and extra to make it all worth the pain. The itch to drive more is met with many ill conceived ideas that place the business and its assets at risk. The risk turns into harm and steady growth turns ugly like a cancerous tumor. Suddenly the whole framework and structure is dissected and removed, all happening while the heartbeat of greed reaches a fever pitch. The CEO looks on as the decimated,

fragile business tries to regain its health. Retail death is self inflicted and all the assets both human and product exit the front door. The once strong business is left to the auctioneer and the noble cause is but a hurtful memory to the many workers who mourn its demise! Beware Lowes

I’m a builder, Lowe’s Has changed so much over the last 15 years that every aspect of dealing with them has become so unreliable. They are more worried about a grey piece of tape then answering the phone. It’s a joke, there are a few associates who care but I really don’t blame them for all the uncertainty at the place. The push down seems to be like an angry librarian who doesn’t want anyone to rent the books so it looks good. The market is changing where most consumers want everything turn key and Lowe’s has became so far from that. They only things I can guarantee with them is If I buy a lumber package that it won’t be delivered on time, material will be wrong, and then when I call nobody will answer. What a joke.

Beginning to look like KMart in the aftermath of the Antonini years, with Niblock being our Antonini, and Marvin the cleanup crew who ended up merging with Sears.

You said it better than I could. In less than a year this is what Lowes has become.

preach it. they preach growth, you know, just give 1% more every day, and point to their programs as growth, but are so blinded by greed that they mistake the tumor they've created for a muscle that has been daily exercised and allowed to grow.
