Thread regarding Xerox Corp. layoffs

The War is LOST

To all my GIS peers (no, I will not refer to it under that new stupid name) - it's over and there is nothing that we can do to stop it. Bad decisions by executives at Xerox and even GIS created this mess allowing for people like Icahn to come in and do this. It's frustrating that GIS kept this turd of Xerox afloat for so long yet now is getting wiped away as part of some grand plan of outsourcing and sale.

While there isn't anything we can do to stop it, we can make it harder for them. First Q is ending soon - do what you can to not bill revenue. Part of collections? Stop collecting. Your management doesn't care as they are getting chopped too. Send as much toner (and the GOOD STUFF TOO) to customers. Tell them we are all getting outsourced and you want to make sure they got the stuff they need before foreigners try to figure out what they need. Blow out their expenses. Take your SICK DAYS especially at month end. Do all this quietly while maintaining a smile on your face. The HCL id--ts won't know the difference.

We are all getting slaughtered - yet we might as well get a kick in or two on these a-holes before we get zapped. If it lowers the sale price by even a dime it is worth it. People here in one big core are p-ss-d OFF. And look into going to competitors. XRX doesn't enforce non-competes. They are too stupid.

Interesting article about rebadging and our legal rights

@dpf too right. Lots of denial, anger and bargaining here. Nothing to do but accept it and move on to better opportunities asap.

Spare me the guilt trip. Employment at a company is a two way street. The EMPLOYER shouldn’t bend over the employee like this. We have busted our tails for GIS (and Xerox) for countless years and what do we get in return? Worsening benefits, slashed 401ks, merit freezes and eventual pink slips after being fed the line of tripe that we are going to be ‘a tech powerhouse.’ When you treat people like c-ap don’t be surprised when they respond in kind.

@Y7jil0t-1iyx You sound just like our local core president. Rumor has it execs may be on the chopping block, too. Better go hug your money and dust off that resume.

@Y7jil0t-1iyx F off. I don't need some rando telling me how to feel. If the people posting here are the competition or former employees, then they sure have odd inside information about what's happening. It's people like you who are what's wrong with capitalism. Everything for the almighty dollar. You do realize that Icahn is dismantling this company all so he can have even more money than he already has, right? That's beyond greed. But, hey! Capitalism! Winning! This is just life! S--- it up and just go work somewhere else!

People like you make me sick. I'm not a victim - I'm someone that's p-ss-d off that people like you are part of the system that Fs people over for a few extra bucks.

Don't trust all you read here. These people could easily be the competition or bitter former employees sowing evil seeds to destroy our company. Capitalism is alive and well in the USA, and this is how it is done. Please have enough confidence in your ability to survive and move on if you don't like your current situation, or if your position is eliminated. Don't fall for this 'victim justice' tripe. You are paid to do the work you agreed to do, until you or your employer deem it is time to part ways. If you decide to listen and act on the advice in this thread, then at least have the decency to send your final pay back to the company, with an apology letter to all the coworkers who you leave behind that may be affected by your selfish act.

I hope they're reading. And I hope the world comes to know what a sh1++y company Xerox is. You can downvote it all you want, but the truth will get out there one way or another.

They have nothing else to do except count their money. I never thought I could wish for something so bad to happen to people. They are truly heartless.

Interesting that this main post started at +15 rating (+16/-1) and now a bunch of negatives came through netting it to barely positive. Looks like the a$$hats at XRX do read this blog after all. Hey s-heads: we aren’t gonna go quietly. That’s what u get when you treat employees like garbage.

What do you mean you found out Friday? Your core made an announcement? What exactly did you hear?

Some of us from GIS tried to organize a call out...no one listened. We got responses such as "I'm not wasting my sick time" or "No, that's stealing" and look where we are now. I'm not saying that we could have changed anything, but we could of at least gotten people's attention. I'm with you jil02 but there are so many that won't do what you ask. They will still bill as much revenue for the corporate Raiders and not participate in the protest. It's really sad considering Xerox doesn't give a sh-- about us and yet there are still people at GIS who are going to work thier asses off to end the quarter strong..so sad. Maybe we could have done something earlier to stop what's happening, maybe not. It's too late now but we should have at least tried. Wish there weren't so many wimps at GIS who could have at least took a stand.

Remember, Xerox Direct was the cash cow for the company for many many years and paid for all of the channel expansions. We had high market shares in the largest accounts in the world. The employees were hard working, skilled, dedicated and paid very well (until abt 10-15 years ago). Unfortunately, Executive greed took over and began a systematic march to kill the division and hand the accounts to other channels. These are the accounts that Direct employees secured and supported.

The pace of account movement was accelerated. The accounts were handed to GIS which was very very profitable for GIS because they had zero customer acquisition costs. The argument could be made that some accounts should or shouldn’t be moved but that is irrelevant. The point I’m making is that GIS should have been the most profitable. It paid no aquision costs. Many hundreds of millions in customers were moved to GIS.

I don’t want to detract from the well run cores success prior to the acquisition, rather, I would place blame on the executives and dealers that sold out. Xerox had a long history of screwing up acquisitions before GIS came on board.

To net it out, nobody on the front lines of either business is to blame for this. Almost all were hard working and diligent.

The responsibility of the demise of Xerox rests solely on executives, some management, and corporate raiders.

You can adapt to the present reality or remain in the past and go extinct. Your job is now to train your Indian successors, and if you're smart, you'll find a new job before the checks stop coming.

We found out about HCL on Friday and people stopped working. Some went home. This will definitely effect the end of quarter productivity/results.
