Pricing Coordinators are not technically being laid off, but there are test stores in Florida that have made pricing coordinators accept the position of Customer Readiness Associate. This position comes with a schedule working overnight and more job duties, such as unloading the truck and stocking.

This was recently announced in Regions 15 and 12. We will be changing over on April 20. There will be no severance for this position since it isn’t considered a lay-off.

Right now it seems as if the pricing coordinator’s schedule is just changing, and there are different added duties being reported by different stores. So I’m unsure what exactly is going to happen next month.

But it seems as if the plan is to eventually create an overnight team that unloads trucks, puts up freight, does price changes and signage, and completes cycle counts.

While this is only being called a test, with it already spreading to multiple stores and regions, I fully expect this to move forward within the company.

Source: Myself (I just got word a couple of weeks ago of the changes at my store)

Lowe’s m.o. seems to be to “Thin the herd”, so to speak, by systematically pushing Associates out through petty write ups and behind the scenes harassment. And then lay off the rest.

At my store, they seem to be pushing out the Sales Specialists. In three months down from 11 Specialists to 5. As soon as they get rid of one, they focus their efforts on the next. They do keep up the facade that they are going find a replacement, but I suspect it is all phony. I do have one Appliance Sales Specialist who is p-ss-d that they have him shuffling between flooring and appliances for the last two months. Now, they got rid of one of the cabinet specialists and are having him cover that dept.

Mind you, I am in a $50 mil.+ store in region 27(the perpetual test zone). They figure that if they can pull it off here, they can pull it off anywhere. Based on what I have seen, I suspect you hear the next phase being that they will have “Zone Specialists” with PT CSAs and seasonal associates providing the bulk of the coverage.

I found out our area commercial accounts guy resigned about 4 weeks ago, got in with a company that has steady hours, less travel and better pay.

I think regional let him know what was coming down the pike and gave him a chance to get his escape plan in order. He was one of the very good ones.

This is one that did not get any attention locally because those people were not in the stores on a day to day basis but it was a lot of employees!

It wasnt posted anywhere, but Lowes fored 15% of all their Corporate Pro guys in the old AEP position, now called PSM .

And 60% of THEIR bosses were fired.

This was 2-3 weeks ago. I was one fired for supposedly.. "performance".

They claimed they put together a task force who investigated my work and found I was under-achieving.

LOL - bye bye Lowe.s

It would be helpful to know what they did in order to determine if this is more layoffs or just 2 associates let go for cause.
