This program is more than broke. Added Reginal Staff that have no clue what they are doing. They cant manage the projects so they try to manage what we do now. If vendors had a clue they would pull out now. This new Dell id--t is a clown and is ruining the program. This program is more jacked up jow than it has ever been...give me an L.

T my store we are getting slammed with new seasonal freight. The problem is the MSTs do not have the overhead bay labeled. So the night stocking crew is putting stock up wherever there is space. To add insult to injury we have 14 full skids of garden chemicals from last year in the overhead. But what do we get 4 more skids of chemicals. The entire MST program needs to be fixed to anticipate freight flow. The season has not started but is already a diaster.
Our Mst's are rude, don't communicate with CSA's. We have tried to work with them by finishing sets. Problem, some MST's know how to work, others are just pulling a check. We have 5 that chat on the phone more than work. Then there are the stand around talking personal issues with boys. Two older MSt's are moody, carefully how you talk to them. Our hours have gone to these people. Now, my Department has two CSA's to cover 15 hour days, 7 days a week. Oh, don't forget Power Hours! 4-6 hours a day we CAN NOT task! MST's can task and get in our way with Customer's needs. Now, we have injuries not being reported and let's make fun of the CSA's, only a few CSA have not seen that issue. Then there is the favorite MST, the Managers like, the one who runs the entertainment on break. So rude on break that cashiers referred to the MST's as the "Mean Kids", don't sit at their table.
Angela is the best
what i want to know is the actual protocols for bays. sh– is making me crazy! no tape here, tape here, bin locations being removed (stupid idea) I am so frustrated at my job
I would agree there are too many layers of management in the MST program (including mine), The focus of what resets are to be completed has changed as late as a Thursday afternoon and required to be completed by Friday, The MST's have had 47 injuries since it started (not sure if it was just in our region), The 60% more stock has caused the store to look like JCP a few years ago and Home Depot's back around 2008, The Smart project tool is not very smart but, nice to look at, it does show what tasks are completed but, still get phone calls on where were at and more e-mails then before the no e-mail thing now all the Market team does is push e-mails from Regional down to the stores. wire?..... open, take action, read.....haven't read one yet. No real servicing has been completed or will be completed anytime soon. Market, Regional & Corporate can't handle all the changes and it trickles down to the store level, so many people leaving or taking pay cuts to get out of management and Lowes in general. Operating costs may not be under control for some time but unlike JCP, Lowe's can afford the changes for the time being. Right Marv? That's why you couldn't change things around for JCP, they didn't have the money for your great ideas?
Some of the good vendors that we have seen being let go I asked to apply to an MSA position but, they can't take the job because of the pay cut.....think about that.
I'm lucky enough to have a great team, store manager and one ASM so we will hang in there and work things out. …..Hopefully.
As a manufacturer rep who’s talked to a lot of MST DM’s lately, they’re getting slammed with tons of resets and not enough hours/MSA’s to do them. The thought of even “servicing” bays around the store isn’t even possible. A lot of stores look terrible - dirty/dusty displays, incorrect or no price tags, bays not zoned for days/weeks, etc. Lowes has a long way to go to match up with the MET service at Home Depot.
Too much management lol. Look at depots met team. If Marv is going for that we’re screwed. They have 6 layers of mgnmt for the met teams.
Root cause is Smart project. It’s like Sterling for MST...lol
The whole PSA/MST continuum got badly warped about 2012.
Before that, with the PSAs staying just in their store, having department assignments with weekly expectation/minimum hours per department...we actually did what the vendors were paying for.
I got out of it when they started "fixing it."
Couldn't agree more...program is ruined with to much managemnt now.
