Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

Transformation

Transformation is a joke. Business model looks like a bobble head waiting to fall on its face. Can't understand why we are cutting from the bottom. New contracted employees who haven't even had a chance to prove their worth are being laid off. Seasoned employees having to struggle twice as hard for the same or less pay with every job being a potential catastrophic due to worn, unmaintained equipment and overworked employees. Company won't grow if there is no new talent starting from the bottom.

Hard to say the transformation is a joke.. the actual transformation pretty much works as it was intended.... put everyone in silos and stop ‘multitasking’ while reducing management headcount and expenditure in PSD / TLM while adding non revenue generating and seemingly pointless managers into OP, Procurement and HR.... the highlight has to be the Commercial Centre concept, making it impossible for anyone to make a decision on pricing without 433 conference calls on pricing in order to still make no decision.... then 433 more calls to make up justification stories on why we lost.

That’s what the bosses wanted and what they’re getting.

That they seem surprised that operations and revenue growth has gone to sh*t, is the big worry.

Face it, it’s the Schlumberger way. Nothing new here. They’ve done business this way for years, and they’re not going to change now. Evev if it is their downfall.
