Thread regarding Schlumberger Ltd. layoffs

According to the earnings report the numbers are looking good

The earnings report stated that SLB Q3 profits were up 18% then they were in the same period last year. What’s even more satisfying is that there is high oil demand on the market, and it is projected that it will stay that way for quite a while.

Hope that this good position that the company is in right now will result in a more secure job environment for the workers.

When oil was at 40$, all blames were on oil price. Now oil is 80$+ who to blame ?

It pisses me off seeing slb pays 200k$ and 300$k salaries to employees who sleep in office, since there are several of them doing same job and still considering transformation a success!

Transformation was a brutal act by muscle head people in slb against employees who were so focused on delivery that forgot defend themselves and got kicked out.

Shares down 2.6%, you Muppets need to learn how to read a balance sheet and refrain from being cheerleaders.

SLB needs to take a lesson from Panera Bread. They serve the bread that the people want. Baguette, bagels, french toast, sourdough... Ciabatta! You name it. The quality of the bread is amazing and the prices are reasonable. I think Panera is the key to SLB's success.

People of skills and knowledge all are fired or laid off.

Backstabbers who only care about bounce and paycheck are left.

Just pay attention to main topic these days in office.

It all about benefits and how to get them.

They underperformed virtually all other options out there over the last ten years...

Heck! You could have bought commemorative plates and do better!!!

They figured they'll transform the company into something of the digital age to keep it going so they can keep the monkey show going. Yes, by comparing it to its industry peers they're ahead but who cares? it's like K-Mart is ahead of Sears or something. A turd with an IoT sensor is still a turd! They are not profitable and cannot advance because they do not promote pragmatic value adding people of skill and knowledge who care and contribute. They promote career politicians, liars, backstabbers, frauds, and the likes. It is about quick money now without commitment. Ask anybody in NAM hired after 2004 about their pension. Oh yeah, there is none. Firing thousands of people being on international assignments and dropping their families to look after themselves after billions of billions had been contributed to c-suite pockets. I have not seen anybody doing the "right" thing in this colossal turd pile of so called "company" in years...

There is a chasm of difference between gross and net.

Should have exchanged all my SLB stock for Panera Bread stock 6 yrs ago. Would have been like winning PowerBall. Bet Panera didn't have a "Transformation Team".

High Oil Prices = should equal high share price?

Lower Costs = should equal more profit (with or without transformation we have cut like crazy)

Therefore either the Sales organization does not know how to get price rises and win contracts for a gain or the transformation and cost line efficiency is not working? Or more likely both are not working!?

Alternatively all this cutting means our resources are worthless - you can only charge what buyer is willing to pay? All this makes me sure the share price will not rise above $70 for 12 months!

'What’s even more satisfying is that there is high oil demand on the market, and it is projected that it will stay that way for quite a while.'

So how come US deserves are at an all time high? This is without Iran and Venezuela and with an OPEC cap. You must be one of Schlumbergers'hapless economic advisors. I really despair at the lack of insight and knowledge.

https://www.bloomberg.com/quote/SLB:US. Click on the 'view full chart' on the right hand side graph and then click on '5yrs'. You do not need a Harvard Masters to see that the stock price has steadily declined to nearly half. Something is exponentially failing and from where I am Q4 looks disastrous.

Take a good look at the net income and profit margin.

Profitable? Paying dividends with... hmm...

You obviously didn't check the accumulated debt which is why the shares did not move. You need to learn how to read a balance sheet. Quarter 4 is looking grim, grim, grim.
