Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

Anybody else from Ad Services here at this hour?

Just wondering if I'm the only one. To say I'm nervous ahead of today's meeting would be an understatement.

I've already started looking for a new job a few weeks ago, but that doesn't mean that I came to terms with the possibility of being laid off. I wish it was as simple as some people on this board would like us to believe it is.

In any case, good luck everybody!

I hate to say I don't know, but what is AD SERVICES? What department is this? What do you do?

OP: I do not in any way want to minimize what you are going through right now, been there many times and got the t-shirt. I Left after 29 years with the farm. I can wholeheartedly confirm that there is life after SF. It was strange at first because I missed my friends and the work itself, but that fades. My best advice, whichever way it goes for you is this: If you somehow make it through this round, there will be another, and another. If you aren't already, start planning for that day. Get (or keep getting) your financial house in order. Pay down your debts, save an emergency fund (ultimately 3 - 6 months salary), sacrifice to meet this goal because money will be your friend when you need it. Keep your head high and try to remember the good parts after your time has come...

It’s going to be a hard day. Ad Services is my family. I grew up in Ad Services and have been here over 20 Years. Got married, had children built my life all while in Ad Services. My closest friends are in Ad Services. Regardless of all the change at State Farm through the years Ad Services has been the best department to be a part of. People in Ad Services still take pride in their work and carry the good neighbor torch when many others have stopped caring. To sum it all up its going to be a very hard day.
