Thread regarding Whole Foods Market Inc. layoffs

Accept that this is Amazon now

Once again people, you aren't Whole Foods. You are Amazon! Bezo bought WFM because he wanted organics and WFM is known for its organic foods and already set up with suppliers, but Bezo wants all the crappy food that people go to other stores to buy. He wants everything people want to buy under one roof. You guys will carry everything as Amazon not Whole Foods. Why are you surprised with the changes. After the contract expires in August you will most likely be overwhelmed with changes. Probably go to work one day and find a big Amazon sign. So glad I left when I did.

I agree this is something people need to finally realize, @RZzAcGm-4wxf. You need to be really naive or keep your head buried deep in the sand not to realize that things will change drastically under Amazon. It might start with small changes and take a year or two, but Whole Foods will be unrecognizable. If you plan to stick around, then you need to learn to accept that.

I have been with WFM for over 12 yrs and I saw it's demise when Walter Robb was CEO and Mackey became silent. Unfortunately no one stepped in to stop what he was doing and here we are. So many missed opportunities to get ahead of the competition. Now Amazon owns us and we will move in a different direction. I have no problem with that, what ever it takes to keep us going but these crazy ideas regional comes up with to save their jobs really needs to stop. Amazon needs to step in there first and put their people in. Get rid of sisters, cousins and friends and put competent people in those jobs. OTS is not a bad thing but like everything else WFM does, they take it over the top. Why do jobs have to be threatened over this? We in the trenches are left to explain to the guest why they discontinued a great product for no good reason when it may simply have been a vender made someone mad. Regional must go.

I hope they dispose of the Execs the reason WF had to sell in the first place is because of global\regional leadership teams making bad decisions. Lots of people in undeserved roles because there buddys in higher up positions propelled them into roles they had no business being in. The best part is when they failed in one position another position would be made up for them instead of a demotion or termination.

Thank you! Some people call what has happened to Whole Foods progress. I call it a damn shame. Either way TMs open your eyes and quit pretending that Execs at Regional or Global can change it back if you whine loud enough.
