Thread regarding State Farm Insurance layoffs

2018 pension

There have been a few post on here where isle have said get ready for layoffs and more faster reduction it is here. We have just 50k policies in the first three weeks if 2018 alone. SM and up are being evaluated for restructuring I. E a snake footprint. In turn now secretary's

. There is PC MODERNIZATION which is a major effort. And now the rumors about pension being frozen. If you don't realize yet that SF is not just trimming the fat they are in reaction mode in not sure what to say. After MG4'S ETC MG3 are next on the chopping block. Prof tech as well because most departments don't need as many prof techs. Pension I believe will be frozen or modified. That's the rumor anyway.

And how many times have we tried PC Mod? More ways to waste cash and the end result is more people being let go.

We are have zero growth in auto, fire, homeowners etc and this is almost May. I have heard no rumors. However I can tell you no company can continue to operate with negative growth at the level they currently operate. It simply is not sound business. Which leads me to believe pension is being considered heavily. How could it not be. I am sorry folks but I am not betting on SF pension as heavily as I used to. I think it will be frozen for tenured associates already vested. And I think it will be eliminated for non tenured

non vested associates.

I am being forced to take early retirement. When it's all said and done, my pension check will be less than my nephew makes washing dishes at Pizza Hut a month. 5 years till I could have gotten full benefits. They know exactly what they are doing. I'll also have no medical, dental or vision benefits. That's how they treat their long term employees. It's a sh-- stain place to work. !!!!

We should hire Little Wayne. Every time Fawad talks, he could respond by shouting, "WHAT? WHAT? YAAAY-YUUUUUU."

You need to Diversify your portfolio, Analyst! ODB wanted to be here but couldn’t make it.

Agree with a better 401.

Please hire a firm that’s engaged and understands S&P stocks. Our investments are flat

I don't think pension is off the chopping block either. It's an expense, so it is vulnerable to being radically changed. One thing is clear with this MG4-MG6 reduction the Farm does not care about tenure or experience anymore.

You figure since all the new hires do not last long and the experienced employees are leaving early - State Farm is saving tons on the pension. These new employees will never stick around long enough to get anything or much.

I doubt they’ll touch the pension for now, our net worth has gone up $9 Billion in the past 2 years thanks to stock market returns, so we’re hardly hurting financially.

/...now in English?/

I saw a similar claim in one of these threads a week or so ago where the number was 30K instead of 50K. It wasn't written in English then either, so I still have no idea what this person is trying to say.
