Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

October 12th next round?

An all hands on deck email just went out scheduled for Thursday Oct 12. I dont want to fear monger but it seems these layoff events are always scheduled near these conference calls. Also this day happens to be a Thursday which all these layoffs have happened on. Thoughts?

To the poster who said not many network layoffs you must not of paid much attention. That layoff in August decimated the network tech and business tech groups. Anyone who put in for that buyout got it. There are areas that had 6 or 7 down to 1 or 2 and others believe it or not that have none. They have the cst group doing network work there as well as in some areas that were knocked down to 1 or 2. I don't think upper management realizes just all what network techs work is.

"Oct 12 is here and All Hands call happened. No layoffs.......alot of fear mongering going on around these parts. And not alot of teamwork. Windstream is an odd place. No wonder the company is nose diving, talks about layoffs every single day.

You do know they have been doing it the third week of the month. That is so they can cover the insurance and other befits to the end of said month.

Who did the invite go out to? I'm on the enterprise side and I did not receive one for the 12th.

If you see 'Training' added to your Oracle Field Service Cloud... guess what you'll be doing. And it's not training....

So is network techs, and cst considered to be on the enterprise side, I’ve not really seen much ilec cst or network techs cut yet just wondering if maybe they might be targeted in the next round of layoffs or what it’s like playing the lottery anymore

They have been having those calls. Nothing odd. Most of the layoffs happen 3rd week of the month.

If you go to the Stream page under Cloud & Connectivity you will see a link for Enterprise, click that and you will see the Enterprise Business unit and all of it's parts.

Must be an all hands call for the Enterprise side. There is not an all hands call on the calender for 10/12/17 for the Wholesale unit.
