Every executive in SLB climbed up the ladder in the same way. Look what they can do in this downturn. NOTHING!

I remember Peyret from a long while ago when he was young and upwardly mobile within GECO/SLB

According to Olivier Peyret (Chairman Schlumberger France), 60K people have been fired since 2014.

If they've layed off 50k then they still have like 80k employees. That's still more than any of the other service companies individually.

80k is still a lot of employees. They could probably cut down to 65k or so and still function.

• Compensation for executives: More $$$ for executives and even raises during the downturn

You might think NAM had enough layoff, while we are suffering, managements thinking of closin down office outside US in NAM, canada probably will get hit soon.

Slb is just a service company like any other all with the same standards. Let's not think it's in a class of its own.

It seems like US employees also need a strong union like them. Laying off employees and ruining their families has been so easy here.

Wow, ignorance is indeed limitless. The total number of people who got laid off from SLB is over 40,000 - maybe it's close to 50,000 now. The current headcount includes people from Cameron due to the stupid merger.

It seems like french employees have no idea of what has been going on in the US. Unbelievable. I never agreed on the idea that certain breeds are protected in SLB, but now I'm a believer.

I dont think much layoff is done overal, many people is been moving around too.
