Let me see....1)I am over 45......2) I have destroyed my body physically for over 10 years and need the free hip replacement that Lowe's promised.....3) I finally have retirement and insurance and can breathe easy nearing retirement.......WAIT...I'm fired. My 401K was the first to go and now I have none. Next my husband spent a week in the Cardiac ICU for which we now are in debet over $30,000.00. Oh yeah, I cant get a job anywhere because I am +50 yrs. Thanks Lowe's.......for destroying my life so that the greedy CEO can make a few more million dollars a year. My food and housing and medical care that I worked my a-- off for are sooo much less important then the money that you can't possibly spend in your lifetime raise.

Great question! All the workers I know that were let go were over 40 and had 15 or more years with the company. Yeah you would think before they started cutting jobs they would have started with the waste at the top. I didn't like shopping there anyway but now I won't grace their doors again. I have never shopped Home Depot before but I am actually enjoying shopping there. If I don't agree with a company's ethics I surely am not giving them my hard earned money. When mothers having children are too expensive it is time for me to look at other stores to shop with.

It wasn't age discrimination that they did it was salary discrimination.. They let go people who had a lot of tenure. Payroll for Lowe's is higher then the standard and it was a way to eliminate those salaries without making it obvious. I am sure the Store Managers were told to reduce payroll. Why most of the ones selected make much less.. I know I was one of the highest paid at my store and the 2nd was also not selected. Some tell me I probably would have taken a pay cut to move up to Service Manager.

It's sad. How many managers does anyone have over 40 in their store? Not many, that's for sure.

You see, once you get passed 50, the minions that work for corporate calculate that you won't be able to make enough money for them as someone younger can...you're days are numbered on Earth, and that's just a fact. Lowe's' answer? Don't waste time on the older folks. Hire them PT, pay them as little as possible, and work them the hardest. Instead, hire younger, dumber people, try to brainwash them, and promote the totally brainwashed to management.

Today, being between 45-65 is the worst age to be in American society. Better to be retired or young because if you're 45-65 you've been written off as not economically viable.

Lowe's is a despicable company - the future of America, and what a sad future it is.

How about returns and losses from returns not stopped. How about stupid new technology failed yest preach lowe's is evolving. How about a 1990's operating system crippling growth. Yet money is taken away from hard working dedicated over 40 workers. To be run by some weak as non confrontational millennials who just yes people. Yet when they try and get the others to work for them the ones who would step up are now gone. I know I am one of the last and abused all over the store because no one will do anything. I'll be gone eventually.

Benefits and insurance too expensive...

Apparently mothers having Children are too expensive

Employees over 40 too expensive

HOW ABOUT EXECUTIVE PAY BEING REVIEWED.... Millions multiple mansions corporate helicopters and jets

Hard working loyal employees cut when executives s--- in their millions and sacrifice NOTHING.
